Hot Heart
Hmm, because I must've spent more than 10 minutes in there as Franklin, getting gold on most of the challenges but I think I only got up one bar (so to 60 or 80). I'd have to double-check though, I was having too much fun just shooting stuff. EDIT: I forgot to mention I did my car-puncher thing. Most drive off sharpish, others get out and run away. Guess I should try it in a less salubrious area... Edited September 19, 2013 by Hot Heart
NeoStarr
Switch to unarmed and press LB/L1 in a car to flip people off. You're welcome.
Luftwaffles
You can use the right stick to aim too and stick your hand out the window and shit.
madbassman39
I think we need a new rule for the next week or so. NOBODY is allowed to post GTA V stuff during the hours of 8 am to 6 pm Pacific time. Otherwise I'm going to go crazy reading all of this stuff at work.
Hot Heart
OK, I checked Franklin's shooting skill. Yeah, he is right near max now. Huh... I have to ask, why couldn't I use Michael's bullet-time when I was trying to close pop-ups on that guy's PC, huh?!
TheMightyEthan
I have to ask, why couldn't I use Michael's bullet-time when I was trying to close pop-ups on that guy's PC, huh?! Lmao, that would have been awesome.
madbassman39
The worst part was trying to use the analogue sticks like a mouse. Sure it sort of locked on to the "X" on the corner, but still it took me longer than I would like to admit to get the feel of that thing. TheMightyEthan
Get an old laptop with one of those nub things in the keyboard to practice with.
TheMightyEthan
Man, maxing out the flying stat is almost as easy as maxing out the shooting stat.
Luftwaffles
Mine happened on the first mission with Trevor, yep. On a different note, I like how with both planes and helos they just throw you into one in the middle of a mission and are like "do this". It hasn't been that difficult on either of them, but I like the lack of handholding in that respect.
TheMightyEthan
You can do flight school and get helicopter training before you ever get to a helicopter mission. But yeah, planes definitely. Also, Trevor's flight skill starts out almost maxed. *Edit* - I had both Michael's and Franklin's flight skills maxed out by the time I got to the helicopter part of the training though. Mr. GOH!
What's with all these posts about people going to schools and training sessions in GTA V? I didn't buy GTA V to sit through some motherfucking video game class bullshit. Go out there and enjoy the damn game, you don't need to grind to max skills like this is some sorta JRPG or f2p monstrosity.
TheMightyEthan
I was shit at the flying in the first flying mission so I wanted to do the flight school to get better at it myself. The shooting range and golf I just did cause I enjoyed it.
Mr. GOH!
I crashed on that first mission because I always suck at landing. But I got it on the second try. Seemed natural to me. Now, being tossed into a helicopter in a mission as Michael was a rude awakening; he was jittery as all fuck. And just trying to get from point A to point B outside of a mission as Franklin flying was a harrowing experience. For Franklin, at least. And anyone near him when I tried to land. madbassman39
Just started playing as Trevor. I like Wade, mostly because in the first mission when he was sitting in the back of the truck I accidentally knocked him out and had to wait for his dumb ass to get back into my truck. I was surprised at how early an airfield became available to purchase in the game. It was the first property I bought, which is strange because most other games that would be the last property you would be able to purchase. Mr. GOH!
madbassman: I'm significantly far into the game, and it's still the only place I've bought. Properties are EXPENSIVE. GTA V has earned $1 billion in sales in three days. http://kotaku.com/why-rockstar-released-gta-v-for-current-gen-consoles-1356077733 Edited September 20, 2013 by Mr. GOH! Strangelove
Is there more than one safehouse per character? Can I buy more or is that it? Ive become kind of obsessed with my characters having the same outfit, but the game doesnt agree so I have to run home every time I need to change back. Kind of tiring. Also the question mark missions are kind of awful. Ive tried 2 of them and they were both for things I hated doing in the main game. Which sucks because the characters seem to be pretty entertaining. Oh well. So far the only side stuff Im doing is meaningless, its the random blue dots. I always stop to do those for some reason. I used to do the same in RDR though. By the way, Im running through the story missions. Im THAT guy. Ill get to all the other side stuff once the story is over. Ive played multiple GTA games and pretty much all of them have you use most of the game's good mechanics and see most of the map. I doubt Im missing a lot. I dont consider not playing darts as something I missed.
Luftwaffles
I bought the weed place on Venice Beach, but then they asked me to do something for them and I regretted it. I'll worry about that shit when I complete the game.
Mr. GOH!
I've had a great time with the freaks and strangers missions. Well, except for the racing stuff. I do not play GTA to race.
Luftwaffles
Me too. The tow truck missions were relatively tedious, but they didn't overstay their welcome too much. I'd actually say the one where Michael mows down aliens with the minigun was one of the more enjoyable times I've had in the game, and I sort of wonder if they'll continue to be a common theme after the mission with Jimmy.
TheMightyEthan
I enjoyed the tow truck missions for some reason that I can't fully explain.
Strangelove
First stranger I ran into and it was the tow truck missions, next one I did was the races. Ugh. I hate doing both those things.
Mister Jack
I'm not even going to bother with any races until I max out all of the driving stats.
Strangelove
Anyone else forgot to use the special abilities, like, all the time? I have to be reminded to use them, otherwise I just dont.
Luftwaffles
I use Trevor's and Franklin's as sort of "oh shit, I'm in trouble" moments, but I usually forget to use Michael's altogether, yep. It just feels so lackluster compared to Trevor's.
