I think you had to find it and ask for an invite...then because it's Invite Only, I (or one of the commissioners) have to invite you. "Don't call us, we'll call you."

Been messing around a bit online. It's quite fun. Before he had to go, W&S and I knocked over a store and made a quick getaway. Will have to try a proper session another evening, when I can stay up later and play with you dudes in the US.

I had a go at a mission that a guy setup for two people. It was versus. Had to kill a cop, steal some evidence, make sure you didn't have a wanted level and take it to a warehouse. There was a lot of back and forth where we were killing one another, then not being able to evade the cops before another showdown occurred. Fortunately, I was the better shot and won most our duels (or got a tie in one case), then managed to steal his newly-spawned car and make a run for it. Another mini shootout happened, but I got clear and drove quite a way with a busted tire. He caught up with me just before the end, but I managed to ditch into the alley and leg it from there. Overall, it was really tense and fun; should be better with even more people.

I also picked up a new personal vehicle after sticking up a few places to afford the tracker and insurance. Though I really want the Lampadati Felon because it's styled like a Jaguar, handles pretty well with some decent speed and has four doors so it's good for a getaway vehicle.

I got it to work after about 3 tries last night. I have a friend who I want to play with and experience the aw-inspiring co-op liquor store robbing, so after I got past that intro race and the car insurance part I called it quits.

I have to say, Rockstar botched the tutorial. Its a semi-instanced race that can be run instanced but instead of allowing you to just do the tutorial solo, it requires to check for other players first. When in a solo server, the race should never look for other players. I raced solo, no other players joined my session, but it did wait for a while trying to find other players, so its not as if other players are required.

Yay, looks like the crew emblem is working properly now.

If y'all want to invite some more people (doesn't have to be PXOD or IRL friends, but at least trusted) then that's cool. I've automatically made you guys commissioners so you have as much power as possible; anyone you're unsure of can stay lower in the hierarchy if need be. Might as well try and get as many in the crew, I suppose.

Thanks Hot Heart, you're the best and stuff.

Just kidding, fuck you and all you stand for, this government is shut down.

As for inviting people from GAF, I don't really see the need. If we want the crew full, sure, but otherwise they're just randoms who take up space and eventually become inactive. I'd rather keep it to friends and such, but it's up to you all I suppose.

I got in last night and was able to play with my buddy. The tutorial in this game is just downright dumb. You can't invite players into your session (even though you start in a server) you can't join your friends session in progress, or really do anything until you do the first hand full of missions, ending with a team death match.

But after we got it all figured out it was a blast. We started off buying masks, and hit a few shops in Los Santos, got chased out, went into Blaine County and hit up a few stores there. A player showed up in a helicopter, and picked us up after I crashed my car in a river (luckily I had insurance). We then started to rob more stores via helicopter. My buddy accidentally killed me TWICE while robbing, both times hit the trigger to kill the clerk, but he was standing too close to me and hit me with his shotgun.

It was funny, but you lose a lot of money when that happens.

We then did a few death matches, which were surprisingly more fun than I ever thought they could be. That was probably due to an overwhelmingly positive group of people.

My first few minutes waiting for my friend to log on were hell though. I was in a server of just assholes. I was buying some guns and as soon as i get out, a player kills me, steals my car, says "thanks for the car, asshole" and then proceeds to wreck it. Of course this didn't destroy the car and the insurance company wouldn't answer my call. I had to get my car out of the impound, which gets you two stars, and get free. As it turns out, my car was almost undriveable, and another player was killing me as I was trying to do just save my car. I love that car (Sabre GT Red with white stripes), and I managed to get it in driving condition again, which was good.

Overall, best GTA experience I've ever had, and this includes GTA IV online, which I always enjoyed free play on. The free roam is a little barebones when compared to RDR (I loved raiding bandits in that game), but its still phenomenal.

madbassman, if you're just trying to get stuff done without getting griefed, hold Select/Back and the interaction menu comes up. From there you can buy Passive Mode for $100 and go about your business without others harrassing you. It stops you from being able to do more 'violent' things as well, but it's good if you're trying to shop, mod your car, etc.

Also, the amount of money you (can) lose when you die depends on how much you're carrying; other plays killing you can nab your wallet (check your friend hasn't had an unexpected windfall...). You have to visit ATMs to bank your cash, and it's a good idea to do that regularly, since it's still available to spend when purchasing.

I did see something about an option for limiting who can drive your vehicle, but I don't know if that applies to people stealing it like that.

You don't have to find an ATM to bank your cash.  Just pull up your phone and visit the bank on the internet and deposit all your money.  Buying things comes right out of your bank account anyway, so there is no reason you should ever be carrying cash on you if you aren't being chased by cops.

I usually keep all my money in the bank aside from something along the lines of $50 because there are some items you need cash for (soda machines to heal mostly), and I thought about putting on passive mode, but then I like the fear of other players. The game is intense when you see another player and are unsure of their intentions. If I am getting too much shit I may turn it on, but I enjoy the fun in the whole be afraid of everyone.

I do have a question, is Free aim always on or can you change it to have auto aim? I play single player with free aim, but you are at a disadvantage in quick shootouts with other players if they have auto aim.

Now online stats are working on the social club, looking at my GTA Online funds, I find:
Total earned: $24,714
Total spent: $12,802
Current amount of money: $965

Something doesn't add up...

I know some dickhead killed me once when I came out of the clothing store, but that could only have been $5k max (and I don't think I even lost that much). And I've seen that IGN mentioned missing money as well. What are you playing at, Rockstar?!
