Waldorf and Statler
I forgot CoD came out this year. Even then there's no over saturation of games. I would rather they release it early 2013 but november wouldn't kill them since GTA games always sell like hot cakes.
TheMightyEthan
Oh yeah, I think GTA V could do just fine among the AAA heavy-hitters of the fall, but there definitely is more competition then. *Edit* - Also, CoD comes out every year. Hot Heart
Also hotcakes don't sell that well anymore.
Waldorf and Statler
You shut your whore mouths. Hotcakes still sell like iPads
SomTervo
Rockstar will probably play it safe and do March/April 2013. But, as said before, it would do them no harm at all releasing it at the end of this year. No other games will eat into their sales. GTA is just too hot. Too hotcake. That GTA is so hot right now.

deanb
At first it's just funny when he's running into folks with the chase cam. Then 1:35 happens.
Mal
So apparently GTA V world is going to be enough that planes are actually going to be really reasonable to have flying around from one end of the map to the other. Again, I have a deeply buried wish that Rockstar don't screw up that bad with the PC version.
SomTervo
Be big enough? And yeah, in the initial rumour blowout thing (of which many of the rumours sounded totally legit), the world was alleged to be 5 times bigger than GTAIV's: which would definitely fit that bill. Thursday Next
I thought San Andreas was too big. I assume GTA:V will be bigger than that. I really just hope that Rockstar remember to make it fun this time, instead of going for technical excellence.
Hot Heart
I thought somewhere said it was as big as part of San Andreas, not the whole thing.
SomTervo
Nah; GTAIV's LC is actually about the same size as SA. When you go back and play SA, it's really not that large, just really fucking well designed! GTAV will hopefully be huge.
TheMightyEthan
I've been looking for a "size" measurement for GTAIV and I find estimates ranging from half the size of SA to slightly larger than SA, so idk.
SomTervo
I remember in an article Rockstar said that GTAIV was around the same size as San Andreas, maybe slightly larger. But not by much. GTAIV's hard to estimate because it's so detailed. GTAV is definitely going to be bigger than both regardless; they have said that it's large enough to make flying vehicles justified as transport means. deanb
http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/37991/transport.html Thing is, on gamespress there's actually 6 screenshots... Oh this I think is also their first round of media to pop out since the initial trailer (but I may be mistaken)
Faiblesse Des Sens
There were some screenshots a few weeks ago. Anyways, there's spots on the site for 3 more shots, so that should explain it. Is there an embargo on those other 3? Obviously, I'm not sure how gamespress works. Hot Heart
The other three shots have surfaced. http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/08/22/gta-5-screenshots-show-lovely-lifestyle-activities-anyone-for-a-spot-of-tennis/ #3 = dat scenery
TheMightyEthan
Like RPS said, these were clearly captured from a computer that could only be owned by God.
Waldorf and Statler
The day these are 360 shots is the day I have a steady girlfriend who doesn't annoy me within 2 months and I continue spanking it alone, crying and complaining about being alone. Hot Heart
I don't even care if they don't look that good on console. I always felt that something about the art direction of GTA IV and RDR made the scenery beautiful, despite the limitations.
Faiblesse Des Sens
They are most definitely 360 shots. Bullshots at that, but still console shows. It's really noticeable on the one with the tennis courts and the parachuting one where we can see a lot more of the environment. Impressive, but not anywhere close to impossible. TheMightyEthan
No, there's way too much antialiasing for that to be running on 360. What do you see that screams 360 at you?

The resolution, the shadows and textures on the more zoomed out shots.
