Laviniya
I've never even heard of it. *feels old* It's a chat thingy for phones and it has a web interface. It works perfectly
deanb
If memory serves this one is either: - Tied to Bittorent - A multi-chat service (so does like Hangouts, WhatsApp etc) https://telegram.org/ Personally I use FB Messenger for friends n such, and Hangouts with Work folks. I like Hangouts, wish more folks used it but "booo, Google+".
TheFlyingGerbil
I'm actually having issues with the web interface on whatsapp at the moment, but that's what my friends use so I guess I have to stick with that one. I tried to get people to use hangouts, but it didn't work out. I don't really want to sign up for even more stuff and I'm not installing facebook messenger, it really annoys me how they took functionality out of the main app to force you to use it. Actually don't even have the main app installed at the moment as every time it updates it borks my phone and I'm sick of it. kind of nice not to have all those annoying notifications too so I'm not in a rush to try again. Hot Heart
I've found Telegram to be the most simple and reliable across desktop and mobile. I'm sure Hangouts is probably very similar, but Telegram was the option my friends went to.
Laviniya
I have tried Hangouts and lots of other clients, mainly for the phone, that could send/recive things really well and I find that Telegram is the best one for that.
danielpholt
Thought I'd give this a little bump. Telegram has started to get really interesting of late. Their gif feature is really fantastic (type @gif [search term] and it'll pull up a list of animated gifs you can post into your chat]. Unfortunately, like most of these things; none of my friends are using it. It's better thant whatapp, and more reliable than hangouts, unfortunately it doesn't come pre-installed, nor does it have the brand recognition,. deanb
I installed it, though on old phone, not really used it. I'd guess you'd be the only other person I know on it.
