TheMightyEthan
I will admit that I was only technically correct (the best kind of correct); I was sure it would be launching in November 2017.
TCP
Ok so just waking up to all this news, forgive me if this is a little incoherent.I don't even really care that much that NX is getting Zelda. But the fact that they delayed the Wii U version out of this year to come out at the same time as the NX version is upsetting. So now there's no big Wii U holiday game this year? Again? It's not our fault that the Wii U bombed, it's Nintendo's. It feels like they're slowly backing away from this platform without delivering anywhere near to a decent library, not when you compare it to the Wii, GCN, N64, etc. This whole experience has just left a bad taste in my mouth. As of right now, I don't think I'll be getting a NX.

TheMightyEthan
Isn't Zelda still coming to Wii U? Yes, but had I known that the only Wii U Zelda would also launch at/near the same time on the successor console I would have just waited for the successor and not got a Wii U at all. This is the first Nintendo console ever to not have its own Zelda. Also, coming right off of Super Mario 3D Land, you got Super Mario 3D World, which is even better from the looks of it! Super Mario 3D World was a lot of fun, but it plays more like a NSMB game than something from the lineage of SM64/Sunshine/Galaxy.
TCP
Super Mario 3D World is a fine game but it's really just a rehash of the 3DS game. It's not anywhere near as big and creative as Galaxy. I really think Nintendo's making a big mistake here, they're alienating the only people that supported them this generation.
TheFlyingGerbil
While I can understand all the miffed customers Nintendo is leaving in its wake, I'll be buying a nx zelda launch bundle and will love it. I genuinely don't know what they could do that would stop me buying their consoles. Mind you I am a sucker for suck things as I told myself I wasn't going to get an Xbox one this gen, after not loving the 360 and I did, though that's sort of turned out well as it means when I finally get a ps4 it will be the updated one so I'm relatively happy. Mr. GOH!
You guys need to do your moral duty and just not buy any more Nintendo stuff. Let Ninty die with what little dignity it has left. Also, it's hilarious that Cowboy thinks the N64 had a decent library. It had a dozen or so good games, that's it.

If the Wii U had an N64 quality library I would have been happy, not enthusiastic, but pleased enough. It's not like I bought a Wii U as my primary console. Right now the Wii U has.... Mario Kart and Mario Maker? The N64 got two god-tier Zelda games. And a great Mario platformer. The Wii U didn't even get any of those. toxicitizen
Yes, but had I known that the only Wii U Zelda would also launch at/near the same time on the successor console I would have just waited for the successor and not got a Wii U at all. This is the first Nintendo console ever to not have its own Zelda. Yeah okay, that makes sense. Super Mario 3D World was a lot of fun, but it plays more like a NSMB game than something from the lineage of SM64/Sunshine/Galaxy. Super Mario 3D World is a fine game but it's really just a rehash of the 3DS game. It's not anywhere near as big and creative as Galaxy. I've admittedly not played the Galaxy games but I thought SM3DL was infinitely better than the 64/Sunshine formula. I played those two back in the day and they were alright but they didn't blow me away or anything. 3D Land totally did. I thought the idea of 2D Mario level design within a 3D space was pretty novel and a ton of fun. It has a considerably better library than the Wii U. If the Wii U had an N64 quality library I would have been happy, not enthusiastic, but pleased enough. It's not like I bought a Wii U as my primary console. Right now the Wii U has.... That's some pretty goddamn solid exclusives right there. Edited April 27, 2016 by FLD
TCP
Sure but I don't think either of those games have the wide appeal Nintendo is known for.

TCP
Yeah along with Bloodborne and Persona 5.
TheMightyEthan
The Wii U has a bunch of games that are like "yeah, this is cool", but there hasn't been one single game for it that I was actually excited about. There are only two games that I would have felt like I was missing out on something by not playing them, SM3DW and Pikmin 3 (have not played W101 yet, it's on my list), and they're not really enough to justify the console. I wouldn't go so far as to say I regret it per se, but I definitely feel like Nintendo let me down.
toxicitizen
Yeah along with Bloodborne and Persona 5. I'm not delusional, I know Bloodborne has zero chance of happening. Persona 5 is just a matter of Sega slapping Atlus Japan and telling them to get their fucking heads out of their asses and realize it's 2016 and Steam is a thing that sells video games. Mr. GOH!
True, Cowboy; the Wii U is worse than the N64.
CorgiShinobi
So anyone else point out this is deja vu from 2006 when Nintendo decided to port over Twilight Princess to the Wii, thus delaying it on GameCube. You know, the game that was the last leg for the abandoned GameCube. As per Nintendo tradition, the next big project receives priority while the current console is left to the will of any, and I mean any, third party throwing their game out. And no one better talk smack about N64.
TheMightyEthan
I agree the parallels are depressing, but at least the GCN already had Wind Waker.

TCP
I agree the parallels are depressing, but at least the GCN already had Wind Waker. And two 3D Metroids, plus a good Mario. The best Smash.... The Wii U also has Wind Waker! Zing!
CorgiShinobi
Forgot to mention, Super Mario 3D World is a damn fine Mario game. I have 11 games for my Wii U, so I definitely found a use for it. Just a shame that it wasn't as useful as my past Nintendo consoles. I know there are a few more titles I could try out on the Wii U, but I have other games calling my name.

Let Ninty die with what little dignity it has left. Also, it's hilarious that Cowboy thinks the N64 had a decent library. It had a dozen or so good games, that's it. I have to agree on both points. N64 was responsible for the only real lull in my gaming habits in my life... and yeah, I was hanging out and getting laid and doing drugs and stuff at the time, but still, I can recall popping into stores and looking for something new to catch my eye, and just seeing the same tired lineup most of the time. It took a couple of years of Playstation owners throwing their libraries in my face for it to finally penetrate my skull, but I eventually realized that if I wanted a console that was going to feed my appetite, I was going to have to look elsewhere. The only thing I disagree with is the idea that Nintendo has any dignity left.
