TCP
My bond with my Switch isn't maxed out yet, psychic connection comes at level 4! Edited April 20, 2017 by Cowboy Danger Poet
Mal
I guess that's one way to make your Switch FRESH without hoping or hunting for a special edition Switch. And it gets around the issues of not being to apply like a dbrand skin on.
danielpholt
My Fiancee grabbed me a Switch as an early Xmas/Engagement gift. I opted for the coloured console because as a man who's slowely but surely losing all the colour in his hair; fuck grey. I've grabbed Zelda and Mario Kart alongside a screen protector. What else am I going to be needing?
TheMightyEthan
I also like the colored one better.

Hey, I aint afraid of a little colour on my tech, its one of the reasons I adore the Gamecube as much as I do. As for the engagement, thing's have been a little crazy in the last month and I've not really had the time to get on PXOD to share the news. So no, you aren't the D bag for forgot. That honour falls to someone who doesn't frequent this fine forum.
TheMightyEthan
I would like the other joycons better if they were black to match the Switch itself, but that grey just is not appealing to me.
Thursday Next
All the joycons are great for small children. They are fucking awful for a grown adult. I've not held a more fiddly and uncomfortable controller in my life and I've owned a NES, a Game Gear, a DS, a PSP and a Vita so feel I have some experience with cramp inducing controllers.

Initial thoughts based almost entirely on the free comfort grip that comes with the console; they're okay.Everything is incredibly small; buttons, analogue sticks and even the shoulder buttons. It's working out okay whilst I play Zelda, but I imagine anything more action oriented is going to require the Pro controller.Initial thoughts on the Switch? This thing is so fucking cool. Mister Jack
If I were to buy a Switch, this would be the bundle I'd want. TOO BAD IT'S NOT AVAILABLE IN THE US!
Thursday Next
Using a single joycon for Mario Kart was hideous. I feel like I would need a Switch XL.
TheFlyingGerbil
Did you use the bit you slide onto the top to make it a little larger and the shoulder buttons easier to press? Wondering how much difference (if any) they make.

danielpholt
Initial feelings on the Switch after 36 hours: It's a damn cool system that I desperately hope people make games for, because I absolutely love using the thing. The Wii U was never a pleasure to use, it didn't even look nice. The Switch doesn't have those issues. It's super simple, and it looks damn good at the same time. I've mainly been playing Zelda on the couch whilst my GF watches TV, and despite my initial thoughts I could totally get used to playing games this way. Ultimately I think it's too early to tell how well the Switch will do, but god I hope they make games for this thing. Frankly, if it's a straight shot between choosing a better looking version on the PC/PS4 or a the more portable version on the Switch, I might for the latter. Same with Indies. Get me those games day and date as the XBOX/PS4/PC versions, and I'll probably pick them up for the Switch. Looking forward to ARMS this weekend. Only got the one set on Joycons (for now), but I'm sure I'll get the jist of it..
Thursday Next
You won't be getting the big third party titles on the switch. a) Nintendo owners normally have another console for those games. b) The switch doesn't have the horsepower. It, like every other Nintendo console, is almost exclusively for playing Nintendo games. (Which is fine).

Yeah...I mean In an ideal world where 3rd parties made games for this thing I'd likely go with the less powerful version on the more portable hardware. And who's buying Nintendo hardware for 3rd party games at this point? [emoji58]
TheFlyingGerbil
Anyone taken part in the the ARMS global test punch? I did two of them today. I thought it was OK, but I'm not likely to buy it. Think I'd get bored of it too quickly. Plus I can imagine people being very good at it and frustrating me in a way they didn't when they beat me in Splatoon. I'll definitely be playing lots of 1st party Nintendo games on my switch but unlike previous Nintendo consoles, it's also going to be a great home for indie games, I reckon.

Hoping to catch it this evening. No idea what to expect, although I'm not a massive fighting game fan so I guess my milage will vary depending on how close it sticks to that sort of game. I've got my fingers crossed for it though.
Mister Jack
Is this seriously how Nintendo expects people to do voice chat on the Switch? It's such a mess that's it's laughable.
deanb
Especially given they target their consoles and games at kids, who usually don't have access to a smartphone.
