Zeo-Gold92
I picked up a Switch the other week, I got Has Been Heroes as part of the bundle, I also bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I'm enjoying it a lot. Haven't tried Has Been Heroes yet but I've messed around with a few demos on the eshop as well as playing through MK8D. @danielpholt, did it just start to happen on it's own from docking and undocking? danielpholt
Has Been Heroes is the latest game from the Trine people I believe. Unfortunately I absolutely hate that style of game, so there's no chance I'd be even try it.
TheMightyEthan
I got my case in today, and the glass screen protector is great, it makes the screen feel so nice to use. I really do think this will give me the best of both worlds, with the resilience of the plastic screen and the scratch resistance of a glass one. I would heartily recommend this kind of screen protector to everyone.
Mal
Fun thing. Me and my brother didn't realize that the Switch has a touch screen up till a couple weeks ago. For some reason it skipped out in our minds...
CorgiShinobi
Many people go for glass screen protectors for their Switch now because plastic screen protectors start to peel off the screen. The little guy generates a lot of heat, so you've got to go for a glass one.
TheMightyEthan
I always go for glass screen protectors, they just hold up so much better than plastic ones. Not only do they not peel away, but they don't get scratched up near as easily. My old phone that had a plastic screen protector was scratched all to hell (I keep it in the same pocket as my keys), but my current phone that I've had for almost two years has not a mark on the screen. They also help reinforce the screen if your device already has a glass screen, taking the shock if you drop it so sometimes it will just crack the protector rather than the actual screen. danielpholt
So I've been looking at my Switch screen some more. I'm not actually convinced that the screen is coming up as much as I am that the Switch itself is warped a little. When I lay it flat on a table the corner I've been having screen issues with moves when I apply pressure to it; none of the others do. At first I thought the glue was warming up and softening, but maybe I was just unlucky and got a less that straight dock............... Probably going to hold off until I've finished Mario + Rabbids and then send it in before Odyssey hits. Fingers crossed I keep my saves as I'd love to take a look at the 2nd Zelda DLC without having to put another 70 hours into the base game first. TheMightyEthan
Some people have been having issues with the dock warping their Switch not because the dock itself is warped, but because it gets so hot if you play for extended periods while docked. Mister Jack
How long is "extended periods?"

Either way. It's not going to get any better, so I'll be sending it in at some point.
TheMightyEthan
12 hours ago, Mister Jack said: How long is "extended periods?" I don't know, I don't think there's any real data on it, just people reporting it happening to them. It's probably a small percentage but I don't want to take a chance, so I've ordered a third party dock that just holds it from the bottom so most of the console is exposed to the air rather than enclosed like the standard dock. Dang that's sweet. 2
TheMightyEthan
Comparison of Doom on PS4 vs. Switch, based on the Nintendo Direct trailer. I'm honestly super impressed with how well it compares. It's obviously a downgrade, but not as big a one as I would have expected. The biggest thing is the downgrade from 60 fps to 30, but I've played plenty of 30 fps shooters that felt great so if they do it right it shouldn't be a problem. TCP
Makes sense. Bethesda (and it's subs) are probably pretty good at developing for Switch since they're also developing Metroid Prime 4.
Mister Jack
Bethesda will find a way to port Doom to pedometers if it means you'll buy it again.

deanb
I can't find anything about it. Also just a heads up that Bethesda Softworks is not Bethesda Game Studios. Doom is an id game published by Bethesda Softworks.
TCP
Well, duh. Good thing Bethesda Softworks isn't the only Bethesda developer comfortable in making first person games. We still don't know which Bethesda studio is doing MP4 but I imagine it's not the Fallout/Elder Scrolls team (though certainly possible but I imagine whatever they're working on has been in development since long before the Switch). Arkane is probable, even id. Is it even known who's doing the Wolfenstein and Doom ports? I imagine whatever in house Bethesda team it is, is probably working closely with the Metroid Prime 4 team. deanb
So to go with my first sentence though: I literally can't find anything about Metroid Prime 4 being made by /any/ Bethesda studio beyond a fan-theory/conspiracy-theory-ish post on NeoGaf where the leap of logic is "Metroid Prime 4 is coming to Switch, it's an FPS. Doom isan FPS, Doom is coming to the Switch. Ergo Bethesda are making MP4". But yeah, not sure anyone hasn't noticed but Arkane have literally just wrapped up on Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, id are currently in the process of launching Quake Champions, Machine Games are doing Wolfenstien, and I think we can safely say that Bethesda GameWork are working on either/or TES:Online or TES:VI at this point. Pretty sure that would be the much more financially sound choice given they make a shit ton more money off that than doing second-party work for a single console. (also it isn't a "well duh" given that Skyrim for Switch is on Creation Engine, Doom for Switch is idTech, and anything else they port is whatever that is. Bethesda as a publisher aren't exactly on some unified engine like EA with Frostbite. And given the studios that publish with Betheda aren't just called "Bethesda Montreal" or whatever and quite clearly Arkane/id/Machine Games/etc I'd say it makes sense to refer to them as such)

Vecha
I finally got a switch...man, I really hope they add more online interactions. I loved the MiaUniverse-thingy on the WII-U! And the cell phone thing is ridiculous. But I love the games, and glad I can shit and play Zelda without it cutting in and out. And Stardew Valley and Shitting is great too! So many great indies! And Xeno soon! and Mario! But good god please update the "OS" Edited October 15, 2017 by Vecha

TheMightyEthan
Welp, my Twitter followers better be prepared to be inundated with Zelda clips. Just be glad I'm not still playing Mario + Rabbids... *Edit - Oh, apparently it only works on games that have specifically enabled it, and as of right now that's just Zelda, Splatoon, Mario Kart, and Arms.
