danielpholt
This new ability to transfer saved files is the most Nintendo shit I've ever seen. Just let me move that shit to an SD card and be on with my day.

Just be glad I'm not still playing Mario + Rabbids... *Edit - Oh, apparently it only works on games that have specifically enabled it, and as of right now that's just Zelda, Splatoon, Mario Kart, and Arms. Never change Nintendo.

HydrateStandby
Man if my friend had put the minus to the minus my left joycon wouldn’t fall out when pulled. Wow it’s so easy to lose the pristine condition it was in before.
TheMightyEthan
You mean on the console itself, or on the little snap on shoulder pieces? When I got mine the very first thing I did was put those on wrong and they got jammed. I was scared I wasn't going to be able to get them off again, had to look up video instructions. HydrateStandby
Yes the left one got jammed and in order to pull it out I ended up nicking the plastic piece that sticks back in when the circle button is pressed behind the joycon. what this means is I can pull the joycon off he switch itself without pressing the button which is bad because that means there is a loose connection
TheMightyEthan
That sucks. Nintendo really should have designed those things so they won't latch when put on wrong.
CorgiShinobi
So I got a Switch last week, but today I got up the courage to apply my screen protector. Operation successful! From a hardware perspective the Switch is neat, but from a software standpoint it's actually cool and simple. I like the way the screen reacts when you put on the Joycons. It's also not very busy, something that can end up happening on the PS4. The eShop seems to only be for games, which is a bit disappointing because I had hoped there would be Themes. Right now there's only White or Black. I only have Splatoon 2 currently, but you know I'll definitely be getting Super Mario Odyssey!
HydrateStandby
The switch is really convenient it’s a good idea for people who can’t really use a flatscreen on the go but don’t want to sacrifice too much performance to play a game. I bought one for Christmas because I won’t have room carrying a monitor and a console and the switch is portable.
Mal
The performance and/or quality of the games really does make the Switch great. Sure the 3DS and Vita beats out the Switch on portability but I like the screen size of the Switch. It is just about right. I think the only thing missing is a truly portable dock. Honestly just give me a brick with wires. One for the Switch, one for HDMI, and one for power. I would pack that with me when I leave for work. For now though... I'll remain playing in mostly portable mode.
TheMightyEthan
I bought a much smaller dock case (you have to open the original dock and move the circuit board over) and I really like it. I bought it for heat, since there were those reports of people's Switches getting warped by the stock dock, and because the stock dock was scratching people's screens, but it would also be much more portable. This isn't the exact one I bought (Amazon doesn't have it anymore), but it's very similar: https://smile.amazon.com/BASSTOP-Portable-Nintendo-Replacement-original/dp/B071YVC3NJ
TheFlyingGerbil
That sounds like a good idea, and would mean I could stand my Switch vertically rather than on its back, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to break up my original dock and buying another plus the small one would be hella money. TheMightyEthan
It really isn't hard to open up the dock, and there are instructional videos on Youtube.
TheFlyingGerbil
It's not the difficulty, it's the thought of sacrificing an original accessory. Sacrilege. Edited January 2, 2018 by TheFlyingGerbil
HydrateStandby
Nintendo would be smart to make more accessories because it seems like you have to buy all kinds of things to get the best out of the switch. They’d make a lot of money if they had better accessories.
TheMightyEthan
@TheFlyingGerbil I mean, if the accessory will destroy the console...
TheFlyingGerbil
yes, well... I have no answer to that other than I've been lucky enough not to have an issue so screw everyone else.
Mister Jack
I've actually read recently that the whole console warping thing is physically impossible for it to be the dock's fault because the amount of heat the Switch generates isn't nearly enough to bend the metal shield inside of the console. Instead, it's been suggested that the bend is the result of a manufacturing defect in the Switch itself. Has anyone here had their Switch bend on them? I plan on getting one in the near future and I've been doing a lot of research on this issue.
TheMightyEthan
Even without the bending issue, there's still the fact that it scratches the screen.
Mister Jack
That could very well also be the bending issue's fault, since the console is twisted into a shape that wasn't meant for the dock.
CorgiShinobi
I've owned my Switch for less than a week. When I pull my Switch out of the dock, you can see where it makes contact on the screen. So long as you have a screen protector, you'll be safe. I've looked into dock alternatives, but everything seems to have a consequence to it. Hard to dock onto, or pull out seems to be the most common. Mister Jack
This guy did heat experiments on the Switch to see how hot it actually gets.
