CorgiShinobi
$79.99 is how much it is! Honestly, I might be interested in it. There is more to the ring/hoop than lets on, though you're still strapping a single Joy-Con to your thigh.

I'll probably wait after release for a bit to make sure the ring isn't some flimsy piece of crap and then pick it up at some point.
TheMightyEthan
I just finished FE3H: Cindered Shadows, and need a new Switch game. Anyone have recommendations? I've already passed on Animal Crossing because I think it's something I'd get bored with quickly and I'm not willing to risk $60 on that. MetalCaveman
I don't know about e-shop prices over there (is there a way to see this? Web and console only show me Mexican prices), but Fate Extella and Fate Extella Link are 700 pesos each, which is $30 at the current exchange rate. If you like the Warriors games, or games in that style I recommend those. Mind you these are the digital versions, don't know about the physical versions.
Mal
You ever got around to Stardew Valley? It'd be a neat game to co-op with the Mrs (not sure if one copy can do it on one machine...). Edited March 26, 2020 by Mal
TheMightyEthan
I did. I played for a few hours and kinda lost interest. I might look at it again though, I'd kinda forgotten I had it.
TheMightyEthan
Nintendo announced a bunch of stuff yesterday for the Mario 35th anniversary celebration. Here are the highlights for me: Super Mario 3D All-Stars - Includes Super Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, and Mario Galaxy, all increased to HD resolution but apparently otherwise unchanged. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - Not really sure what Bowser's Fury is, but it's probably some kind of expansion to the base game. Super Mario 3D World is quite possibly my favorite 3D Mario (with Mario Sunshine being the other possibility), so I'm super excited to be able to play it on the go. Mister Jack
I'm interested in that Super Mario Bros Royale, but why in god's name are they making it so you can only play it until March? That makes no sense to me. Finally Switch Online is getting good exclusive content and they are only keeping it for six months? WHY?
TheMightyEthan
It's how they keep us hooked.
danielpholt
I'm still a little disappointing by the 3D-All Star offering, but given that I'm a mindless husk of a human, I can't wait to hand over £50 for the privilege of replaying those games. Nostalgia is a drug that I'm far too weak to say no too. I was holding out some hope that we'd get a bumper 3D World/Land release (seriously 3D Land is the Mario game that people think 3D World is.....???) but obviously that's not on the cards. As for this Battle Royale thing, Okay I guess? I was hoping we'd get some sort of Mario meets Nidhogg thing with loads of players on screen at once, but once again, I think I was expecting more than Nintendo was ever going to offer.
Mister Jack
I hate this limited run shit. I want the collection but I bet more than anything I'm gonna end up having to get it digitally on Nintendo's crappy eShop with a terrible account system because I won't be able to get a physical one anywhere without paying scalper prices. God damn it.
TheMightyEthan
Why not just preorder it somewhere? Walmart still has it available.
Mister Jack
Money is a little tight right now because I had a vet bill. I wanted to wait a bit to buy it until I recovered from that but Nintendo seems to think everyone has an extra 60 dollars to spare during the launch window and nothing else matters. danielpholt
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-10-15-nintendo-switch-online-launching-later-this-month-costs-gbp35-a-year Bit steep for me, even as someone that's already subbed to this. TheFlyingGerbil
I've not convinced myself to get the original online service yet, so nearly twice the price for N64 and megadrive games certainly seems a bit off.
TheMightyEthan
Not nearly, more than twice the price.
TheFlyingGerbil
That's interesting, it's slightly better value in the UK then, ours are standard: £17.99 ($24.75) (dearer than USA's $19.99) Expansion: £34.99 ($48.13) (cheaper than USA's $49.99)

Mister Jack
Pretty bold to charge that much for a bunch of games you can easily emulate for free.

It makes it much more reasonable. Absolutely wouldn't be paying for NSO if I couldn't spread the cost around.
TheFlyingGerbil
Anyone ever upgraded the SD card in their Switch? I vaguely remember something about having to go online when you load up a game to check it's linked to your account but I can't remember if it's changing console or SD cards
TheMightyEthan
I have one in mine, and it's switching consoles that makes you check online, not SD cards. I play offline all the time.
TheFlyingGerbil
Thanks, now I just need to decide if I should be sensible, keep the SD card I've got and only download the games I'm playing, or upgrade and keep buying games I'm never doing to play...
