TCP
Sucks for Europeans but.... fuck 'em! Glad to have Zelda at a launch. I'm flying to Chicago in the Spring, you better believe I'll be playing Zelda the whole way there.EDIT: for 2-3 hours of the way there. Edited January 5, 2017 by Mr. TCP! TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I'm actually kind of glad because it means I'll have my Switch to take on the trip to South Carolina this spring for my sister's wedding.
TCP
You have to assume the English, French, and Spanish(?) languages will be ready to go in March since they're all used in North America. So once again, Germany is fucking shit up for the rest of Europe. Edited January 5, 2017 by Mr. TCP!
Mister Jack
Isn't it coming out for the Wii U as well? Is there any real reason to get the Switch version instead?
Mr. GOH!
Because you're a sucker? Why else buy a Ninty console at launch?
TCP
Isn't it coming out for the Wii U as well? Is there any real reason to get the Switch version instead? How else am I supposed to play it on a plane?!

Mister Jack
Frankly, I'll be very surprised if the battery life on that thing is longer than two hours.
TheMightyEthan
I would expect more like 3, but I take your point. Luckily I was already planning to get a nice power bank.
TheFlyingGerbil
To bad we've not brexited already - we could have got an English only one at launch.
TheMightyEthan
Supposedly the Switch is not region locked, so you could import the NA version.
TCP
You guys better, because I'll be spamming this place with screenshots.
TheFlyingGerbil
I'm happy willing to wait for the proper UK one - they'll probably have some nice bonuses if you buy it direct from Nintendo so I want to see what they offer. TheMightyEthan
I wish people would stop talking about it. I'm excited but I'll be in bed by the time the thing even starts, so I'd rather just be able to forget about it and then wake up tomorrow to all the new info. TCP
I'm going to live tweet the entire event and tag @TheMightyEthan in all the tweets.
TheMightyEthan
That's fine, I'll be in bed, so I won't see it until I wake up anyway.
Mr. GOH!
You're in bed at 10? LAME.
TheMightyEthan
I read somewhere that studies have found that how late people get up/stay up/eat dinner/etc directly correlates to TV schedules, so since people in the Central time zone are on the Eastern TV schedule they do everything an hour earlier than people in the Eastern time zone do. CorgiShinobi
Zelda at launch, March 3rd! That trailer was fantastic. Seems people got their wish for voice acting. (On a side note, I joked about EA talking about FIFA and Madden. Turns out I was half right!)
TCP
Jeeze, what a fucking disaster. That press conference was straight out of 2005. Nintendo, you invented the Direct, why would you do that? Those Wii style mini games 1-2-Switch and Arms look bad. Where the hell was Stars? Beyond Good and Evil 2? Metroid? The fucking Virtual Console? Over priced in Canada. I'll be playing Breath of the Wild on the Wii U. I can't believe this I was so set on the Switch this morning.
CorgiShinobi
Disaster? It wasn't some super-techy spectacle, but it did its job. I'm not really interested in those little Switch games, but people were crazy for Wii Bowling, so it's harmless to me and there's a market for them. We saw decent third party support and specifications of what exactly you're getting yourself into. I'm glad they focused as much as they did on those Joy-Con controllers because I was really skeptical of how they would perform. Granted I'll still have to hold one, but it shows R&D put thought into those little things. The only thing that was terrible was the overuse of "Switch" and the one translator who sounded like he was at gunpoint. And Beyond Good & Evil 2? Like, you thought that would be here? Genuinely? Not under some kind of high? Just, some Ubi rep is going to be on stage and he'll pull a Blu-ray out of his pants with the number "2" on it. A playful wink and we all know in our soul it's still alive.
Mal
Reading up on what went down (I'm running off mobile internet only)... $300, only major launch game is Zelda with the rest later this year and it really was a showcase for all the different colors you can have. Also it seems that some games like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was choppy. I feel that it's best to wait and hold for the holidays at least. And oh yeah. Paid online. HAHAHAHAHAHABAHAHAHABAHAHAHBAHA Nintendo needs to get their online/network experience in order before I give them money for online.
CorgiShinobi
Just to be clear, I'm holding off too (money and caution), but I didn't really expect some orgasmic experience from this. (Dat BotW trailer tho.) It was like a live reading of the articles I'm sure everyone is read right now.
