TheMightyEthan
Oh, and consequently I've also switched my Mirror's Edge and Dishonored 2 preorders over to PC.
Mr. GOH!
You made the right choice. I just pre ordered Total War: Warhammer on the strength of reviews and gameplay streams.
TheMightyEthan
Made the right choice between 1080 and 1070, or made the right choice by coming back to the master race in general?
Mister Jack
Don't they charge a hundred bucks more for the first wave of the 1080? Or am I misinterpreting something?
Mal
Made the right choice between 1080 and 1070, or made the right choice by coming back to the master race in general? Why not both? But enjoy the potentially broken ports. This time around by what is currently available, the differences between the 1070 vs 1080 isn't as less as the 970 vs 980. The 970 just trounced the 980 on what you can get for the price. Kind of why I went with the 980ti (970 or 980ti?). On a related note, if I recall, the 1080 is about ~25% better than my 980ti. Absolutely beats it in VR games/apps. Two to three years on the 980ti can't come fast enough... a real job and 50%+ performance over my 980ti is all I need. toxicitizen
Don't they charge a hundred bucks more for the first wave of the 1080? Or am I misinterpreting something? That was my understanding as well. The founders edition card is sold at a premium price for a while and is essentially the same card everyone else will get later for 100$ less. TheMightyEthan
It's $100 more than the MSRP, but according to my research it also has a better cooler on it than the MSRP cards are likely to have. There will be custom cards as good as or better than the Founders Edition, but they're likely to also cost more.

Mr. GOH!
For buying a nice graphics card. Only you can tell if it was worth the money versus the 1070. Personally, I don't think the performance gains between the x70 and x80 models of nVidia cards are worth the price jump (generally a 60%-100% price jump for a performance gain of 20% or less). I ill probably wait for an 1170 to upgrade, since my 970 is still kicking ass at everything I throw at it in 1080p and I won't be getting a 4k TV any time soon. TheMightyEthan
From everything I was seeing about their supposed performance differences (granted info on the 1070 is sketchy right now) it looks like the 1080 should be ~50% more powerful and is ~50% more expensive (at least the FE), so I decided to go with the more future-proof and 4k-capable one. If I had a 970 I wouldn't be even considering upgrading for quite some time yet.
toxicitizen
It's the only Oddworld game I was still missing and it's currently on sale for like a dollar. I was holding off until they updated it to the HD remaster (or whatever you wanna call it) like they did with Stranger's Wrath a few years ago. It took fucking forever but it looks like the HD update is in open beta now, so I finally grabbed it.
Mal
Regular edition. Umm... yeah. I might regret this? You guys can figure out how to find me. Edited May 27, 2016 by MaliciousH

toxicitizen
Sigh... so much for that Vita copy I never really got around to playing. Probably for the best, though. A fast-paced brawler like this is definitely going to benefit from 60 fps. Hell, even in Trails of Cold Steel the performance often makes me wish I was playing on PC. It's great to have these bigger 3D games on a handheld but the hardware really struggles to run them properly. :/
Strangelove
Bought Overwatch off someone from Neogaf for $40(PS4) today. I've gone all digital, but I'm not convinced I'll stick with this game, so I'm buying a disc for the first time in God knows how long. Hope I like it. If not, I'm sure I can resell it for the same price.
Mister Jack
Was looking for deals on the new Doom but found this for 5 bucks on cdkeys. Figured why not.
toxicitizen
Finally gave in. 20 bucks for the whole thing, so not too bad and it doesn't seem like they're dropping it beyond that anyway. I didn't wanna get it until I was caught up on Assassin's Creed but IGN just leaked that the sequel is coming in November, so I figure at least I can be up to date for that one. Besides, I'm kind of more interested in playing this than AC these days. I'm almost done with Trails of Cold Steel, so I think I'll jump right into this one after. toxicitizen
I'm actually kind of surprised that you couldn't find it cheaper than that. Well, keep in mind this is in CAD dollars, so it's inflated a little bit. Also, it's the cheapest it's been on Steam specifically. It's probably been cheaper elsewhere at some point but that would've been a Uplay key, which, you know, no thanks. Mister Jack
I never actually finished this game on the PS2 because the framerate problems killed it for me, but that's been fixed now and from what I hear they updated the combat system too so it's less button-mashy. I'm looking forward to finally getting into this one.
toxicitizen
Emperor Edition is 85% off on the Humble Store. I couldn't resist, even though I've yet to really get into both Endless Space and Beyond Earth...
deanb
Tis a fun twist on Civ with a touch of Endless Space lore. Though Endless Space has the far superior soundtrack.
toxicitizen
Yeah, I'm hoping that'll make this one easier to get into. I tried Endless Space a couple times and it seemed really cool but it's so unlike Civ (i.e. the only 4X I ever played seriously) that the "I have no idea what the hell I'm doing" phase was much harder to get through. I should probably just fire it up one day and stick with it for a few hours and see what happens.
deanb
My only issue with Endless Space is it take a bit to get the ball rolling on your empire, especially given the four way tech tree, and the combat was a bit weird but you soon get a bit used to it. toxicitizen
Amazon.ca has a 20% off promo for E3 that ends tonight so I figured I might as well pre-order all this stuff now. I was really hoping to grab Dragon Quest VII but stupid Amazon still hasn't listed it.
