The only Racing game I'll play now a days is Mario Kart. The new Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit looks amazing, but racing games need to be enjoyed by others as well. I don't want to move my PS3 out into the common area. Not that I'm afraid of people breaking it, but there will come a time where I'm going to stay locked up while online. ^_^

I guess I can include Sports and RTS games, though I'm not against anything Strategy as Valkyria Chronicles has shown.

Man, I don't think there's any genre I can completely count out. That just seems...dumb. Sorry.

While I agree with you in theory, in practice there are certain genres (such as simulation racers) that I just dislike, and so while I won't write off a game entirely simply because it's in that genre, it does mean that the game has a higher threshold to reach before I'll be interested enough to try it.

I can actually agree with this.

Oh yeah fighting games. I'll play them, Used to kick my cousins ass in Tekken 3 back in the day, and got banned from DC vs Mortal Kombat in our old house (Folks like Minty would probably kick my ass, I just had the advantage that while they played 'properly', because I was the main gamer of us I could memorise and input the combos faster and more accurately than they could). But I'm not interested enough to go seek them out or buy any myself. Certainly not enough to get sticks or such.

The reason I don't care for RTS games is because I'm not very good at changing strategies on the fly for games that involve commanding several characters. I like to be able to take my time and plan the best possible move. Since the entire point of RTS games is to change strategies on the fly, it's not something I care to subject myself to any more after Starcraft 1.

I can't play RTS games for the same reason as you, but also because I find it impossible to remember where all my troops are across the map, what they're supposed to be doing, etc. To put it simply, they overwhelm me.

Fighting games were mentioned ... I always WANT to like fighting games, so I pick one up every once in a while. Then I find I still suck at them - too hard remembering tons of combos, too hard to understand all the million intricacies of one character versus another.

But yeah, just because I don't like these genres doesn't mean I look down upon them or anything, nor do I rule out a game from said genre without trying it. It's just in general they're not my cup of tea.

Ah, fighting games. I never was good at them. The only one I could really play was Smash Bros. and I'm not sure if that counts.

I'd say it's a quasi-fighting game, and it's the only one I can play well either. Mostly because it's simpler - and I mean that in the best way possible. Being able to switch quickly to a new character since the button inputs are universal is just awesome.

Oh yeah - Starcraft II for me as well. I haven't bought it, even though a part of me feels like I should.

I'm horrible at RTS games.

I discovered this after I would build this nifty base with some really cool walls and a bunch of structures and then I'd get trampled by a massive mob wave.

Also, getting zerged in MP games. Not so fun.

I frickin' love turn-based strategy RPG games though, like Might and Magic Heroes, etc. So good.

Also, I said Minecraft, but I just bought it today. Just in case I ever want to play it when it's even more 'finished' in a few years.

Well, I'm not planning on buying a Wii or PS3, so I'm not interested in the games. I didn't say I don't like Wiis or PS3's.

If I were to be given a PS3, I suppose I'd follow games for it more. I'd probably start with Demon's Souls, which sounds like it may be up my alley. Indeed, I sorta wish I had gotten a PS3 rather than a 360 in retrospect. It was just that the 360 was far cheaper at the time and it had Mass Effect on it. :P

I wouldn't really call myself a fanboy of either console. I am sort of a PC gaming fanboy, though. But a lot of modern games are console exclusive or feel more comfortable being played on console.

As for the Wii... I've played a number of Wii games and just haven't been interested in them, whether it be NSMB or No More Heroes.

Same here. I really wish I could be any good at fighting games, but I know it's only a dream. I got Tatsunoko vs. Capcom because of Viewtiful Joe, and now there's Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which has Joe and Amaterasu!

But I've learned my lesson. <_<

A lot of genres that were either created or popularized on PC I really dont like. Mostly RTS and MMOs. Im not into time sinkers in general I guess. I like games with endings or at least games that have endings that you want to get to. It's weird to explain. A lot of games, especially on PC have endings, but theyre just tacked on to have them, people dotn really play them to beat them for their story.

Except Fallout and the Sims for some reason.

Haha, this.

Uh, except that last part. I'm still getting it because I'm a sucker for Marvel.
