Faiblesse Des Sens
Yes, the meeting area is the up the hill, I'm talking the base of it. The drowners show up at the bottom of that area where there's a waterfall. Unless I also missed whatever area you're mentioning.
Hot Heart
Yeah, you're thinking of a different area. May have to explore this new bit, maybe take some screencaps.

deanb
Trailer for the 360 EE version. Kind of a "what's new" thingy. Given it's a month out for the EE version I'll hold out on playing Witcher 2 properly I guess.
MasterDex
That gave me the Friday feelings. I'm definitely developing an unhealthy love for CD Projekt.
Johnny
Aaand that trailer kind of reignited my interest in the game. Do we know when the enhanced edition stuff is getting added to the PC version?
Saturnine Tenshi
April 17th, the same day. Otherwise, I'd be flying to Poland to punch CD Projekt RED in the cunt. Though perhaps I should anyway due to that medallion... Edited March 17, 2012 by Saturnine Tenshi
Johnny
Yeah the medallion is definitely the oddest design decision in the game. If you want to make items glow, just make it an option in the menu or something. Having me walk around pressing Z all the time is duuuumb. Saturnine Tenshi
Well, I meant the collector's edition medallion. But I hardly ever used the medallion in-game.
deanb
iirc you can have it auto-enabled. Also I played the game with a 360 pad so it was much simple (push in the stick)
Johnny
The problem was not the complexity of hitting Z. Hitting Z is a very easy task. The problem was the tedium of doing so constantly.
Hot Heart
I wouldn't want everything glowing The first game's label thing was annoying enough. I like the 'compromise' they opted for.

deanb
It vibrates in the presence of magic/enemies. That's a feature from the old game though.
Faiblesse Des Sens
It also shows you where places of power and traps are.
deanb
It also shows you where places of power and traps are. aka It vibrates in the presence of magic/enemies. That's a feature from the old game though. I've got a medallion that vibrates in the presence of pedants, it's making me a milkshake at the moment.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I laughed. Anyways, I actually am talking about something else. The vibration happens automatically. Places of power/traps are from pressing z.
Johnny
It did more than make items glow. Clearly, you weren't using it properly. The fuck? No, I know it did more than that. I just didn't feel the need to list all it's features because I was complaining about the bad parts. How the hell does it's other features make the parts I was talking about less dumb? It doesn't, that's how.
Faiblesse Des Sens
It makes no sense to not talk about its overall usage. We're talking what one button does here. Nothing more, nothing else.
Johnny
Please explain where this accusation that I wasn't using it properly comes from, if you can. The idea that I am using the medallion wrong because I'm only complaining about the annoying parts is honestly one of the most far-fetched accusations I have ever heard. TheMightyEthan
FDS is just following his pattern: "Your statement is wrong/incomplete about x, therefore you're bad at the game."

You have to consider the good and the bad. What you people can't understand about that is beyond me. Why would you complain about the good parts? That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying just talk about the other functions that happen when you press the button. You said that pressing z all the time is dumb so I pointed out the positives of pressing Z that you excluded. Johnny
... What? My complaint is that the medallion is dumb because it makes me mindlessly press z every once in a while. It's boring and dumb game design. It has nothing to do with how positive the effects of pressing z mindlessly is: it could turn everything around me into gold, it would still be a mindless and repetitive task. Hot Heart
It doesn't really make you use the medallion. Just helps you see the interactive stuff in the environment. I'd rather have it work like that, than make bits of the environment shiny or have labels on everything. Bonus points for FDS managing to work 'you people' into his post.
