deanb
In case your Polish is a bit rusty; it's a video showing how the choices and outcomes change the level design. (not the story, so it's free of those spoilers)
Hot Heart
New Witcher 2 patch. http://en.thewitcher.com/community/entry/257 Now, if you’re thinking to yourself “These changes sound familiar”, you are right! David Block, who originally created the modification described above, now works at CD Projekt RED and is the author of this patch. Nice to see that sort of thing. It does worry me if certain games have a system where it auto-bans you for modding configuration files. I'd not heard of it happening, but I know people were worried with Origin games. Eleven
The changes sound cool and would really fix the minor annoyances in the game. Like the north arrow. Who the hell creates a rotating mini map without a north arrow? The book trading checkmarks and unrotation of the alchemy symbols are welcome. My mind keeps telling me that it's not enough to match the colors of the ingredients but also match the symbol. This will save me the annoyance of having to picture what that symbol looks like at a 45 degree angle.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Oh awesome it's all stuff from fan patches made official.

Chewblaha
I'm so bad I had to turn the game down to Easy.
Eleven
Ok. So with all the patches and enhancements they keep making, they still can't put in an Increase Text Size option. It should be fairly easy to do, and they even did it on the 360 version. So for those who are playing this game on their TVs and making their eyes hurt with the micro text, I'm going to link this here: http://en.thewitcher...od-comfy-couch/ It's really made the text (Inventory text, Journal, HUD text, the subtitles were already readable anyway) very easy to read. You might want to install the comfycouch + the comfyfont (the texts are "wide" with the comfy font, making them easier to read). There is also a "Dynamic HUD" mod which turns off HUD, except the minimap, when geralt's sword is sheathed. I'll try to post screenshots in a bit, or just go to the thread. You guys might already know and use this mod, but with the name "comfy couch", it doesn't really scream "increase text size mod". oh also as mentioned in the thread, you have to rename the file comfysomething.dzip to aa_comfysomething.dzip so it loads first. This is a workaround if you have patch 3.2. Edited July 24, 2012 by eleven
Faiblesse Des Sens
Those mods sound nice. Are they in the witcher mod nexus or whatever it's called?
Eleven
Yup they are. Just found out about witcher nexus. They have a nexus for everything! Screens for the comfycouch+font thingie: Here they are in the nexus: Comfy Couch: http://witcher.nexusmods.com/mods/272/ Dynamic HUD (screens in the link): http://witcher.nexusmods.com/mods/276 Edited July 24, 2012 by eleven
toxicitizen
So, I'm finally playing through Witcher 2. Goddamn the combat can be brutal, specifically the boss fights. And I'm still only on Chapter 1... The Kayran wasn't that bad once I figured it out but right now I can't seem to beat Letho :/ I try to constantly dodge and interrupt his attacks with Aard but I feel like I'm only dealing chip damage on him whereas he seems to murder me in about 3 hits... And I even went back to an earlier save to make sure I was all juiced up on potions before the fight.
Luftwaffles
Have you oiled your sword and all? I know you said juiced up on potions, but you'll want to make sure you buff your damage if you can too.
toxicitizen
Yeah, did that as well. Upgraded it with some runes and used the hangman's oil that buffs damage against humans.
Saturnine Tenshi
That fight was just plain brutal.
Hot Heart
That fight was a bitch. I think I had to resort to reloading to earlier and skipping through the conversation stuff (because that still counts down the timer on your potions). Don't think I struggled that time, but it was a drawn-out fight. Most of the game was plain-sailing after that.
MasterDex
If I remember correctly, firebombs and daggers helped me a lot in that fight. It was a pain in the hole for sure though.
toxicitizen
Well, I reverted to that earlier save once again (so glad I made a manual save right before that part). I crafted some better armor (from the Kayran's remains) and found a slightly better sword. That gave me enough of an edge to beat him, though it was a close one. I'd overlooked my gear because I imported my original Witcher save and for a while I couldn't find anything better than the bonus gear I got from that. deanb
Witcher 2 is now coming to Mac and the mod tool "RedKit" will be coming next year.
Cyber Rat
Started playing the first Witcher finally. I cannot recall the last time I've played a game with such an awful combat system. Hopefully the rest of it can keep me entertained.
deanb
I'd say it's more simplistic than awful. But yeah there's other stuff there to keep you entertained, and for the most part you can run through a fair chunk of battles, especially the swamp area. Cyber Rat
It's a crude clicking + dodge mechanic with an unnecessarily complicated weapon/stance/dance system. I've heard the second game is better in that regard, but I'd like to go through the first one first.
Waldorf and Statler
Yeah the combat system of the second one is much much better. They removed the whole stances thing for different people.
danielpholt
I actually loved the combat system and found it to be a little more understandable than the second game. Granted i played them on different platforms but if you take the time to learn the system, it shouldn't be too big a problem later in the game. Waldorf and Statler
I didn't find it hard in the Witcher 1, just very VERY repetitive and... hack-n-slashy. The second one felt so much better with dodging and the magic. I mean over-all it's a better game... imho
Faiblesse Des Sens
^Yeah that's how I feel. The mechanics in the first game were more boring than anything.

Good look at morality systems and how they can affect gameplay and story.
