deanb
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-11-06-ever-wondered-what-the-author-of-the-witcher-books-thinks-about-the-games Eurogmaer have had an interview with Andrzej Sapkowski, the guy who wrote the Witcher novels. Seems he's not a huge gamer, and doesn't care much for the games. Though from what I've been reading externally he actually was involved a fair chunk with at least the first Witcher game, it would exist if not, but he's now getting back into doing the books and obviously the Witcher games are a sort of sequel that'd clash with any plans he has to piggy back on the much wider global fame the Witcher game series has brought his books. Still a decent read either way.
Saturnine Tenshi
While he does make some valid points—specifically, that of bridging books to media—he's a bit of a douche when doing so. MasterDex
He doesn't seem like the nicest man. He actually, despite all the protestations to the contrary, comes across as bitter and sore that it took the games to boost him to the level of fame he enjoys now. That said, I am a fan of his writing and I think he could be very successful if he got his act together. He needs to organise things so that the translations come quicker so that more than his Polish audience can stay interested. Times of Contempt in English isn't due out until Summer of next year but it's been available in Polish since 1995. The man owes a lot to the games, far more than he's willing to admit, and I think he risks losing fans if he believes that he can continue to rest on his recent popularity boost. Hot Heart
Oh, if anyone was fed up of waiting for official translations, there are fan ones. I haven't gotten round to checking out any yet though. http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/20967-our-community-fan-translations/
Waldorf and Statler
Speaking any other language, since the book is translated to everything including click click tongue whip click, ftw!

Saturnine Tenshi
Certainly didn't have that happen.
Hot Heart
Yeah, I think you can also 'fail' that first confrontation with Ioverth. Nice symmetry in that mouthing off to Roche or Ioverth can get you killed.
Faiblesse Des Sens
I think there's at least 5 unique death scenes. As in 5 cutscene deaths.
Waldorf and Statler
If a man has control of your life, you're surrounded by guards, and you don't have your weapons or armor don't be a jackass. It's common sense.

Hot Heart
Shame I already downloaded the Kindle-compatible fan translations! Their negligence forced me to become a literary pirate!
TheMightyEthan
Were there not official English versions before now?
Hot Heart
Nope. I'll happily pay for the official translations when they do finally arrive, but that's only just the second book in the saga, with the first having been published nearly four years ago. Waldorf and Statler
@Ethan: I'm not sure what the author's deal with english was but he LITERALLY translated this into every other language a long time ago besides english. He must've had some grudge against the english language considering he translated it into even Click click tsk click before english
TheMightyEthan
He must not want us godless imperialists to gain the benefit of his work.

Saturnine Tenshi
http://gamingeverything.com/39177/witcher-3-confirmed-is-next-gen-featured-in-game-informer/ The only thing that troubles me here is the use of "left trigger" like it's the default input device or something. I'm going to chalk that one up to Game Informer feeling its more pertinent to its readers for now, but I'll stay wary.
Waldorf and Statler
I hope that it was IGN having a typo yesterday but they posted that a part of the plot was about "Geralt searching for his lost love, Triss Merigold" and I thought to myself two things. 1. This is the plot of the second game. Bitch needs a new hobby if her current one involves getting lost/kidnapped every game now. 2. I'm hoping they fucked up and meant to write Yennefer as it makes more sense considering all the shit that happened in TW2 edit: also let me just say how excited I am. I am jizzing everywhere. It looks like a Cinnabun up in my room edit part deux: just read the link Saturnine posted. I read every single bullet point I can't fucking wait. And yeah I appreciate the romance over the meaningless sex of the first one. The idea of the plotlines seems to be a smaller degree version of the Witcher 2's second act. As in it won't be to the same scale but every decision you make in regards of doing/not doing these quests have repercusions. I like that. Can't wait. They say this won't be out till 2014 so at least I have no rush in buying a next-gen console till this is out. Saturnine Tenshi
It also makes more sense given that the game centers around the Wild Hunt. I've always wondered how Triss and Yennefer play into the whole story. I mean, generally people don't like multiple romances (unfortunately). So I feel like The Witcher 3 is going to make your decisions romantically inclined at some point: choosing Triss over Yennefer.
TheMightyEthan
As far as the "left trigger" thing, the headline is about how it's confirmed for next-gen consoles, so I don't think it's anything to get too worried about.
Saturnine Tenshi
I suppose that may be the case. I'm going to call the local EB Games and see if they have the magazine.
Saturnine Tenshi
Oh, man. It was pointed out on Reddit that the other rider on the cover of GI could be Ciri! O: Also, EB Games won't get the new GI for a couple weeks.
