Mal
Man, I really hope it won't take another five fucking years for Kojima to deliver whatever the hell that was. I'm thinking 2018 at the earliest. Seems like they got some sort of game engine going already and Kojima might've been planning on a game like this for years. Making MGS games for so long had to kind of suck... so yeah, he just finally got a chance to do something new that he had in the back of his mind. Then again... we'll see. He was only let go late last year and game development takes a lot of time. @Cowboy's post Even though I have no interest in the Spiderman game but that sucks. He was only let go late last year and game development takes a lot of time. Apparently, Kojima went on Geoff Keighley's stream right after and said he doesn't have an engine yet. Apparently it was more proof of concept than anything else, so yeah, definitely no earlier than 2018, if even that. It doesn't sound like he's going to be building his own engine again, though. So there's at least that.
Mal
Bummer. Well, there we have it. A PS5 game.
Strangelove
Sony has the best conference again. Sucks that there wasn't any Red Dead announcement. If not a sequel, then at least an RDR remaster.
CorgiShinobi
So I haven't really been keeping up with E3 besides all the stuff tonight. (I am Bob incarnate) Glad The Last Guardian will actually live. God of War seems like the love child of Tomb Raider and The Last of Us Resident Evil 7 might be trying to play the "Silent Hills" angle, but RE5 was also vague as hell in its initial concept videos. I want a new Kojima injected right into my veins.
toxicitizen
Wait, I just thought of something! If RE7 drops the coop aspect then I don't give a shit what it looks or feels like, it's objectively an improvement. Although I hope that them keeping with the numbering means it's not a canon reboot. I need my cheesy plot with Umbrella, Leon, Chris, Wesker, etc. Edited June 14, 2016 by FLD
Mal
With a rewatch, yes, there are zombies and what I assume to be Plagas infected human set in what I assume is Mississippi/Louisiana. Not sure how this will all work towards the (horribly disfigured) canon but it is an interesting turn for the franchise that I love and hate. Seems to have gone way back with the survival horror aspect with a VR twist... Jesus Christ. Am I going to relive my childhood again of being scared shitless by zombies again? Anyhow, it seems like a sequel since it could easily be a mishap/bioterrorism that cause this outbreak. Hell, maybe shit really did hit the fan this time and the bioterrorists won... they've infected a large portion of the world.
deanb
Yeah Sony pretty much "won" E3 at this point. Really solid show, just bang-bang-bang on the games. Maybe not everything I'm in to, though this seems like a neat GoW game that's not wholly a GoW game. The COD also looked quite good too, though not something I'd super splash out on but I might chat with my bro since I know he CODs and I might be able to get him to get it for me I'm not bothered with the VR, but some neat VR games shown off too, though seemed at the expense of any indie titles. toxicitizen
Ugh, I haven't slept enough and this Nintendo stream really isn't helping. Enough about fucking Pokémon! Just give the release date for Dragon Quest VII already, so I can go back to sleep...
Mister Jack
I feel like I'm the only person hyped for Dead Rising 4. Granted, it's probably Windows Store exclusive which sucks a lot of the wind out of my sails. TheMightyEthan
Dead Rising 3 was okay. I'm not really looking to play more though.
toxicitizen
I'm interested in Dead Rising 4 but I still need to play 2 and 3, so it's not exactly at the top of my list. Plus, RE7 has a store page on Steam but not DR4, so whether or not I ever bother with it remains to be seen. Speaking of RE7, some more info came out. A post on the Capcom Unity blog confirms it's set after RE6, so it's definitely not a reboot. And apparently they said on stream that the demo isn't part of the full game and that we should expect more traditional RE elements. It's unclear if the full game will also be first-person. Kinda weird to announce the game like this. I mean, I get it, they're going for the P.T. angle. But if the game ends up not being like this at all, I really don't see the point. If it's really coming in january, then they must've had something more representative to show. Hopefully they'll do that sooner rather than later. Mal
If they head back to survival horror then I'll be happy. Going to the atmosphere of RE1-3 and Veronica I can buy. Imagine going from the demo to RE6. Really all I want is to make children scared again. I think I mentioned over here before but I think of the greatest failures of 4-6 is that little kids weren't scared like most kids were with 1-3. For adults, the only thing I can think of that made us pause were the Regenerators and Iron Maidens from RE4.
