deanb
Hideo Kojimas new game. Not much known about it at the moment except it's looking to be a 2018 game, Sony is publishing and it features Norman Reedus in it. A stranding, as kinda covered in the trailer, is when whales beach themselves. What that'll have to do with the game, and the baby n what not we'll see in a couple years I guess.
Popular Post TheMightyEthan
Knowing Kojima it still won't make a lick of sense.

Mal
Unless things changed from the few interviews that happened a month or two ago, this is also coming to PC. PS4 just has a timed exclusive. Sucks but it makes sense.
toxicitizen
Yeah, this was never PS4 exclusive. Kojima said from the start he wanted his next game to come to PC as well.

deanb
Showed the trailer for this to my mum since she's a Walkind Dead fan. Didn't recognise the name but once it showed him on the beach (nude in foetal position...) she recognised him. My little sister was intrigued. "Why are there flying people? Where's the baby gone? why are there dead whales?". Latter being the only one I can answer (as covered above).

Mal
So open-world action game with online elements. Okay... Also a game engine has been decided so it is being worked on now. Del Toro? Edited September 13, 2016 by MaliciousH
Mal
Del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen are on board. The setting and mood of the game is pretty great. The enemies seem to be controlled by worm parasites. It can animate inanimate objects like broken down planes, tanks and even bodies even if they're mostly bones. Once the TGA trailer is up I'll link it. Cleaner version. Edited December 2, 2016 by Mal
toxicitizen
Wait, Del Toro?? When did they confirm that? I don't think his name was in the trailer? Oh wait, was that him in the trailer? Lol, didn't even recognize him. Not the kind of involvement I was expecting. Anyway, this is much more exciting to me than the initial reveal. I am seriously digging the visual style. The skeleton soldiers in particular are just fucking metal. Edited December 2, 2016 by FLD
Mal
Yeah, Del Toro isn't in the credits so you have to wonder what he is doing. Maybe it's hinting at a movie/TV show down the line? Kojima at this point should have connections to Hollywood and he's a film nerd. He's really into Hannibal who is played by Mads. Imagine if it's something on Netflix and their equivalent services elsewhere. Kojima does the game. Del Toro does the film. Mads and Norman can seamlessly move between the two. Of course Del Toro could just be an advisor...
TheMightyEthan
Seems to me they're spending all their time and effort making cool looking trailers rather than developing a game.
Mr. GOH!
As I said in chat, this will be a dating simulator. A very weird dating simulator, to be fair.
MetalCaveman
That looks cool, though it's kinda weird that Del Toro is not mentioned in the credits.
Popular Post toxicitizen
Seems to me they're spending all their time and effort making cool looking trailers rather than developing a game. And people act like Konami was somehow in the wrong for putting their foot down and telling him to ship his fucking game already! Seriously, though, Fuck Konami...
Pojodin
I did get an autographed poster for the game by Kojima. I still have no idea what to expect from the game itself.
Mal
Something like this.
Mal
Note, this trailer deliberately have no action but... You are a delivery boy of some sort. The Ghost can age you which kills you. Might explains the babies who might be... you. Anyhow, the Ghost part seems like a stealth section which can be annoying. Of course, we really don't know. Mr. GOH!
I mean, Hideo Kojima making a super weird stealth action game is 1000000% on-brand for him. The more I see of it, the more I like it! This trailer makes it look like somebody gave an indie game designer $100 million to turn a contemplative, bizarre, and short indie game about delivering packages int he post-apocalypse into a AAA experience. It should be a real trip.
Thursday Next
Alright so the big reveal of the woman at the end... Is that something I'm supposed to understand the significance of? Am I supposed to get any of this yet?
Mal
No. I think it is just for the actress.
Mal
Should be at least visually interesting. While I believe Kojima should just make a movie (it would at least be interesting), I don't think movies as a medium can portray what Kojima wants. Anyhow, now to wait till November to see if this will be good or at least worth the price of admission.
toxicitizen
I feel like people focus too much on his obsession with movie-like direction when they say things like this. A movie would remove the best aspect of his games: the gameplay. So that's a terrible idea. His weird stories are fun as hell but even when they're not his games are still 10/10. I've yet to play anything that came even remotely close to playing as well as MGSV. I'm honestly still a little pissed by how much of a shit show that game's story was but I'm tempted to reinstall it literally every single time I think about that gameplay. Mal
Who else does this sort of star studded power in their games? At this point even the characters look like the actors and actresses. I'm really only coming up with Quantic Dreams. While it isn't necessarily a bad thing but it is weird to have a game where you think of the actors/actresses when you see the characters. The characters' identities are potentially being strangled but who plays them. Like you're not playing as Sam but as Norman Reedus. Not Cliff but Mads. I do not think you can necessarily or easily get an iconic character (say like Snake) like this. Not impossible (like say Harrison Ford and his iconic roles) though... But yeah, Kojima gameplay is top notch. And he can at times make them so cinematic (e.g., Snake Eater ladder climb).
