Saturnine Tenshi
I know I've been pushing this quite a lot over the last couple months (especially for those of you who follow me on the Twitters), but it is literally the culmination of over three years of hard work—the sweat of my brow and all that. It's also the reason why I disappeared for about six months: the failure of the first Kickstarter cut deep, and frankly, I didn't have it in me to bother with any of this anymore. I'm back, though, and feeling much better. Enough of the melodrama, though. The second Kickstarter was a success, and some of you were supportive in one or the other, or both. So today I'm making a thread for the book now that it's available for pre-order. Every view and every purchase helps with rank, which gets more views and purchases, and so on and so forth. It's topped out at #331 in historical fantasy, but I'd like to see it higher. Releasing a book isn't a process of simply launching and promoting, it's ongoing—a much slower burn than video games. Fortunately, I've been at this one for quite a while. If you guys have any questions at all, please feel free to ask. I'd happily discuss the research or story or characters or process of Kickstarting it or whatever comes to mind. I think Rev is the only one who visits regularly who's actually read it. CyberRat has, too. Now for the details: AMAZON | KOBO www.astarreckonerslot.com For some, loss merely deprives. For others, it consumes. Ashtadukht is a star-reckoner. The worst there's ever been. Witness her treacherous journey through Iranian legends and ancient history. Only a brave few storytellers still relate cautionary glimpses into the life of Ashtadukht, a woman who commanded the might of the constellations—if only just, and often unpredictably. They’ll stir the imagination with tales of her path to retribution. How, fraught with bereavement and a dogged illness, she criss-crossed Sassanian Iran in pursuit of creatures now believed mythical. Then, in hushed tones, what she wrought on that path. Mainly for the sake of FDS if he drops by and voices an interest: I can't make the book available for pre-order through other channels. But it will be when it releases.
Saturnine Tenshi
The trade paperback has recently propagated on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Getting lots of positive feedback from bloggers, beta readers, and backers. No negative yet. Hardcover was a Kickstarter-only item, but fuck I love how it looks. TheFlyingGerbil
I'll have to make do with a black and white rendition of the cover on my kindle pre-order, but it does look very good.
Saturnine Tenshi
Thanks for pre-ordering the Kindle version, bud (and pre-ordering at all, of course). As much as I love print, the Kindle version is probably the best option for me as an author. Immediately affects sales rank, which is a big deal (and what's most important to me at the moment), and the profit percentage is comfortably high compared to print. Ruyi Yuen did a fantastic job on the cover. I think it's the fourth piece I've worked on with her. She's a pleasure, and talented besides. Recently made a Facebook page for her art, too: https://www.facebook.com/ruyiyuenart/
