Does this game have a point-of-no-return? I've been playing pretty slowly, taking time to explore every area as much as I can, but now that I'm back to playing through the main missions I'm kinda worried I may reach a point where I can no longer go back to previous areas.

Currently going through:

Spoiler

Psychotronics, got the scope thingy and been looking around to see what I can find there. :P

Other than one part near the end where you're temporarily locked in a particular area for story reasons, you're mostly able to backtrack to your heart's content. I don't remember an explicit point of no return but it'll be obvious when things are getting close to the end. And the part in your spoiler tag is super early on, so I wouldn't worry about it for now. :P

Ran into

Spoiler

the nightmare. Actually, I've run into it a bunch of times, thought it was going to be a boss or something since a mission objective popped up the first time I saw one, but now it seems like it's a normal enemy (just, one that can kill you in one hit :P ), though I can kill it with relative ease (fully upgraded shotgun FTW!) it's still scary to have it pop up when entering an area. :P

Spoiler

Managed to get out from the station using Dahl's shuttle, saved pretty much everyone I could. :P

Did not expect that bit after the credits, the visions hinted at something like that, but seeing earth devoured by the coral stuff was a thing, also, looking down and seeing the typhon hands was pretty cool.

It was cool hearing them talk about what I did, specially when they mentioned how I went out of my way to destroy every typhon I ran into. :P I wonder how their reactions differ if you avoid fights and use typhon neuromods. :P

Going with a combat build made certain parts easy as a fully upgraded golden gun kills most mimics in one hit and the shotgun can easily dispatch most of the enemies you run into. :P Maxing out mobility was super useful, since I did not have the hacking skill and repair was stuck at level 1, being able to bypass locked doors by jumping around looking for a vent was pretty cool. :P
