Guess I'd best make the most of it then, I'll be happy to exchange sex with developers for favourable posts if anyone has any connections in the biz. Might get us some new members/ death threats - worth a shot.

Gotta show XSEED (and other companies) that their efforts are not wasted.

Edit: Quick port report.

Little King's Story performance has improved. Some minor (non-gameplay important) stuff does run at double speed but you kind of get used to it during 60 FPS mode. For when it matters, F1 switches between modes on the fly though It feels way too good to play on 60 FPS to move back to 30 FPS but I can see why this was an acceptable workaround.

My only major complaint and it appears to have not been address is controls besides adding more supported formats. The M+KB is still terrible. No rebinding and there is nothing for the mouse to do (i.e., camera control). WASD to move but camera turning is binded to QE so it is awkward to move the camera while moving. M is to pull up the menu, to select is Enter and to exit is Backspace.

The controller inputs is weird too. Menu navigation is tied to the D-pad so you cannot move while fumbling around in the menu screen. This might be solved by tying menu navigation to say the triggers (leaving the right and left bumpers for the specialized functions). Otherwise it's not terrible and this might be the preferable way to play.

I can't help but feel that letting people rebind their controllers would solve most complaints here.

It sounds like Atelier is a solid port. Durante was able to get a Steam key from Koei Tecmo like a week ago and, while he's under embargo until it releases, he's been dropping screenshots and vague hints in the Steam thread over on NeoGAF. He's a huge Atelier fan and he seems pretty happy with it, so I think it's safe to assume all's good.

Hahaha well, when they first announced the port he actually reached out to them on twitter saying he was a big fan of the series and would love to help with the port. It sounds like KT US was very receptive but KT Japan wasn't interested. He did say he gave them some feedback but didn't elaborate on what kind exactly. My guess is the code came from the US branch as a kind of compromise since he couldn't get involved more directly.

Resubbed to Humble Monthly. I skipped the last two months because I wasn't interested in the early unlock games but ended up regretting it when they turned out pretty good (especially last month). I've also been meaning to get back into Total War for some time now and this seems like the best/most fun entry point, so two birds one stone. Of course, now that I've subbed for the month, they're probably scrambling behind the scenes to replace all the good games they had planned with shitty ones. I look forward to my duplicate copies of Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Oh and I still think not calling it Total Warhammer was the stupidest missed opportunity in the history of gaming. I mean, fuck brand recognition. That would've been the coolest title ever!

I bought the Humble Freedom Bundle because it felt like the cool selection you used to look forward to when they first started. But I didn't realise they'd run out of steam keys (for two of the games)? I'd have bought it when it first launched but it never occurred to me that was a thing.

Also, since my humble and steam accounts are linked and humble knows which games I already have on steam I find the system where you have to generate the key, copy it, and paste it into the steam client a bit of a faff. Don't see why you can't just press the redeem on steam button and have it do all that mess automatically.

I think the "do all that mess automatically" is something Steam phased out. So while your accounts are tied from that brief period where HIB didn't give any keys out I don't think it's a functional thing anymore. Which I guess is cool for those that like to share out spare keys instead of having them go into the ether.

For myself while it's a cool bundle I have quite a few of the games in it and the ones I don't I can likely get on lonesome for less. But as a "starter bundle" it's pretty cool. Shame about them running out of keys though.
