I got this for next to nothing off a housemate who couldn't be arsed to move with it.

Aha, this is the part I was questioning.  Since you said "I guess I just bought" I figured there had to be a little bit of a story there.

It's the first english release and it's the original version of the game (the Sky trilogy originally came out while Falcom was still a PC-centric developer). XSEED have been going the extra mile and backporting a lot of improvements from the PSP and Japan-only PS3 versions, though. The Steam releases are arguably the definitive versions of the games at this point.

I never doubted you, SEGA. Now please don't take another 2 fucking years for the next one. Which, btw, should totally be Vanquish!

Yes! Okay, now do Skies of Arcadia next! And Resonance of Fate! And... and Jet Set Radio Future, I guess? Just keep 'em coming!

Noticed it was actually discounted for Humble's current sale, so I jumped on it. I feel like there's been an increasing trend of DLC and season passes not being discounted (or barely) along with their base game lately, so I didn't want to miss the chance to grab it cheap. Don't think I'll play them any time soon, though. I'm not quite ready to do a fresh playthrough of the game and I've learned the hard way in DSII that jumping into Souls DLC on NG++ and beyond is just asking for a bad time.

I did it.  I jumped on the VR train.  Normally these two items would cost me around 500 bucks, which I'd never be willing to pay, but after selling my PS3 and PS3 games as well as applying gift cards and reward points accrued across multiple accounts, the whole shebang only cost me around 150 out of pocket, and that's including Farpoint.

Made a few bundle purchases this month since some stuff I've wanted for a while finally showed up in them. Not gonna list everything I got but here's the stuff I was mainly after.

Stellaris being the early unlock for the next Humble Monthly. I couldn't resist despite the fact that I have an actual backlog of 4X games at this point. -_-

Not actually a game itself, but it's for games so I'm counting it: a 512GB SSD. I'm sick of waiting on load screens, and stutters when games stream in new assets (especially irritating in Forza, which is what pushed me over the edge). It was on sale on Newegg for Memorial Day.

Best Buy has it exclusively in Canada. They tweeted they'd go live at noon on Friday. Of course at noon on Friday I was busy and didn't think of it till 2:30 but it was still available to pre-order. It's gone now though. I missed out on the Amazon exclusive Skyward Sword Link which I'm bummed about. I really just want those sweet BotW outfits.

Update on some board game purchases.

Kind of hard to track down but totally worth it game based in the "Tempest universe" (most people will know Love Letter). Highly thematic game of trying to seize ultimate control of the city itself. An area control/influence game where you recruit and add agents to your operation who then allow influence over particular areas of the city as well as possible extra abilities for... well, fucking with the other players usually. It's very tight, tense and aggressive, and there are so many cool touches and little options for how you go about winning that it's worth bearing in mind that a) your first game will probably take quite a while and b) you won't fully grasp everything on the first go. In fact, it was pretty hilarious to watch the guy who had been making bold moves with a super powerful agent to take control of a couple of areas find that the areas wound up not worth that much and the exposure it gave him, lost him a ridiculous amount of points, putting him into last place, if i recall.

Very meaty and thinky game but very satisfying. I was going over all the gameplay possibilities for days after, which is usually a good sign.

Also, I was reminded how much I enjoy 7 Wonders and seeing as I last bought an expansion in (I think) 2014, I decided it was time to grab the others: Leaders & Babel (as well as the Wonders Pack with a few extra player boards). I think they'll shake things up and get people exploring some different approaches, so I can't wait to try them.

I'd been thinking about golf games for some reason, not having done so in years, and then someone mentioned this was on sale for £3.49 on PSN. The reviews aren't great but the gist of them was that the mechanics are solid, and the points were knocked off for a lack of modes/content, which I think the price more than mitigates.
