TheMightyEthan
Okay, I think this is the last one until Mario Odyssey.
deanb
I guess I have Rise of the Tomb Raider. Liked the earlier nu-tomb and been wanting the new one but it has held its price for a while. This combined with a money off voucher HIB gave me meant it was pretty dang cheap and hey at the end of the month I also get a bunch of extra stuff too.
Mal
For Master Mode for the road. Maybe it'll force me to use advanced techniques to combat harder enemies because I seriously just forgotten to parry attacks a third way in the game since I freeze most of them... And I should plan on a micro SD purchase in the near future. Edited September 10, 2017 by Mal
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I had a nice 64 GB card laying around from my old phone, but I could definitely see the on-board storage filling up quick.
TheFlyingGerbil
Trying to find the octopath demo on the eShop to no avail, Pan Pan caught my eye. which I bought. Not actually heard of it but a quick search and comparisons to Momunent Valley - but no proper reviews - convinced me it was worth giving a chance for the small asking price. Had to go to the Nintendo website to find the Octopath demo though, which is pretty rubbish. Oh, and before I went onto the eShop I installed a tempered glass protector. I'd decided against it when I bought the Switch as I'd not liked previous protectors I'd had but all the paranoia stoking stories gnawed away at me. It went on well so fingers crossed it stays looking good.
TheMightyEthan
There should have been an item in the Nintendo news feed on the Switch that linked to the Octopath demo. That's how I got to it.
TheFlyingGerbil
I set up an extra Japanese user to get a demo and now most of my news feed is in Japanese so I tend to not go in there. Either way it's a bit dumb you can't find it in the eShop. Heaven forbid they actually put a "demo" section in there or something insane like that. TheFlyingGerbil
I feel like spending money at the moment which is probaably not a good thing.
Mal
I would give that a shot but I have a very strong repulsion to Rabbids just like I do with Minions.

I had no history with the Rabbids so maybe I'm speaking out of place here but I thought they were fine. They even made me chuckle at times. danielpholt
I finally got bored of waiting for the much promised Switch version. Got it for a little over £5 on GoG.
TheMightyEthan
@Mal Honestly, the Rabbid presence in the game is fairly low-key, not very in your face. Obviously they're everywhere, but other than the opening cutscene there's not much of their typical Rabbids shenanigans. I definitely recommend it for anyone who has a Switch. TheMightyEthan
Bought Human Resource Machine for Switch. Also preordered Super Mario Odyssey and Lego Marvel Superheroes 2, though I give it about a 50/50 chance that I cancel LMSH2 before release. Mal
Ditto. To be honest, the Nintendo Direct sold it to me. This is also the main reason why I'm holding off on Kingdom Battle.
TheMightyEthan
Don't hold off on Kingdom Battle, it's fantastic and games for Nintendo consoles don't drop in price anyway. Plus Odyssey isn't out for more than a month, that's plenty of time for Kingdom Battle.
TheFlyingGerbil
I guess I should join the club: I did pre-order it a while ago on Amazon and can't remember if I posted or not but I ordered it at work today where they take your money straight away so I've definitelyl got it now. toxicitizen
Came home last night to find out I won a copy of this so I needed to buy this and play it first I really lucked out on the timing because it just happened to be on sale over on Bundle Stars. I've been putting off getting it partially because I wanted to do a replay of the first one and get all the achievements first but fuck it.
Hot Heart
I've been pretty good about not buying any more board games but I couldn't resist this miniatures adventure game from the designers of the brilliant Firefly board game. Looks like it should be pretty intuitive for people who've played the "original" one since it uses the same iconography (fight, tech, negotiate, etc.) Plus, as a pre-order bonus, you get this: Who wouldn't want that?

deanb
I bought Drifter. And cos I used PayPal and because of recent PayPal related issues it is officially the most expensive game I've ever bought.
TheFlyingGerbil
I've played the first hour or so and enjoyed it a lot. It's quite funny for a videogame and the golf play is fun, if not a little random where the ball lands in relation to your target. I'm assuming as you level up it will get more accurate, though there's no explanation so far of what the level up attributes do, so I've kept most of my points back so far in hopes of an in game revelation or at least a bit of googling internet searching using google.
