deanb
Humble Bundle for this month, so Dawn of War III, Long Dark and err the time/TV one with Iceman.
toxicitizen
 I told myself I'd wait and then I just bought it the second it went live anyway. Oh well, at least I didn't get screwed over by the currency bullshit. It's like 62 bucks after the launch discount, which is pretty reasonable. It'll be almost 4AM by the time it's done downloading, though, so now the question is do I stay up or not...
TheFlyingGerbil
 I thought I already owned it but I guess I just considered buying it in the Halloween sale.
toxicitizen
 There was a voucher for it on GMG last night that you could stack with a base discount, so I went for it. I don't think any game has ever grown on me this exponentially and quickly. After my first half hour with it last night, I was pretty much thinking "Ugh why did I buy this? I knew I wouldn't like it..." I've never been intro Contra-type games all that much and I let the hype sucker me into buying it.  I put a few more hours into it today and yeah, no, this is fucking quality. You know a game is doing something right when you haven't even cleared the first world yet but you're already replaying all the levels and bosses you've already beaten just to get that perfect score.
Mister Jack
 It was on sale at Square Enix's website. I played the free trial until I hit the level cap and then stopped. 30 bucks for the full game and both of the expansions was too good to pass up. Hot Heart
Bought Reigns because it was 89p and it's easy to play while hanging out with (waiting for) family over the holidays.
Mal
Metro 2033 and Last Light Redux. Â I want to replay 2033 and I need to play Last Light. I also made some other purchases but they're kind of for research for cheap off the wishlist gifts and/or gag gifts for the future.
TheMightyEthan
Â I got some money, so decided I could allow myself one small purchase before January...
Mister Jack
 This was actually a gift. It's already pretty nice as is, but it becomes amazing after you hack it and add a bunch more roms...
Mal
Final Fantasy Tactics WotL, To the Moon and 80 Days for mobile. They were cheap/on sale, I had credits to use and I want games. The last two I have eyed for a while while FFT is self explanatory.  Edit: FFT runs a bit fast. Sounds like the death screams are sped up or perhaps it was meant to be this way but the PS1 hardware couldn't keep up? Translation is more flowery too. Edited December 28, 2017 by Mal
Mister Jack
The PS1 version definitely suffered from slowdown issues back in the day. The PSP didn't have this problem.
toxicitizen
I don't know about the PS1 version but the PSP version definitely has slowdown in some attack animations. There's actually a fan patch to fix it. Â Also, this game needs to be on Steam already. Ffs, S-E, what's taking so long?! Mister Jack
I might be thinking of the iPhone version. I just remember playing a version without all the slowdown.
TheFlyingGerbil
 This was reduced to 89p and Google had an offer where, if you used Android Pay 3 times they gave you £10 Play credit. Pretty handy since Opinion Rewards doesn't seem to be as generous as it used to be.
TheMightyEthan
 Didn't hesitate too long, I guess. Batman season 1 was so good, I couldn't resist season 2.
TheMightyEthan
 Blue Reflection. I have no self control.
Mr. GOH!
Damn, Ethan. You show that game to your wife?
TheMightyEthan
Not until I know for sure how fanservicey it is...
Mal
Honestly it is on the borderline. It's aimed at guys for sure but I don't think it is in your face as say Senran Kagura. In a lot of ways it is like Sailor Moon in its fan service. This is tame as far as fan service goes. I kind of wish this game was tamer like the Atelier games though. Also, I never realized that I was missing magical girls game from my life.
toxicitizen
If Blue Reflection had any discount whatsoever, I'd probably pull the trigger as well. I've been super tempted to get it since launch. I'm really digging the music and aesthetics and it just looks like something I'd enjoy. Let me know how it is.  @Mal Nothing is as in your face as Senran Kagura. That's fan service pushed to such an extreme that it becomes self-parody.
TheMightyEthan
@FLD At least yesterday it was down to $30 on Amazon.
toxicitizen
That's a pretty good discount but not quite good enough to buy it for a console I don't own.  It's kinda frustrating because there's been exactly zero sales for it on Steam. Koei Tecmo are kind of awful at the whole Steam sale thing. Even Atelier Firis, which came out almost a year ago, is only 30% off. Edited December 30, 2017 by FLD
Hot Heart
Got dragged into Homesense with the family. However, I stumbled across this for £8, which was too good to pass up. And "expandalone" to the original that, while the lacking the more recognisable big stars, actually has more powerful cards for building interesting combos. Whereas the original usually meant very close games, I played this yesterday with two other people and it can be far more swingy. Which held true for the first game and sounds bad, but the game we played immediately after was a lot closer and there are actually more interesting decisions going on with which cards you discard, what you're buying as a defensive move, etc. I won the second game thanks to some smart deck building that utilised abilities for extra card draws and retrievals. Highly recommended.
deanb
Dang. That's a good deal.
toxicitizen
I drunkenly added a hundred bucks to my Steam wallet a few nights ago, so I kinda had to buy something. Â Â Â I tried the Factorio demo last night and I am genuinely worried about it taking over my entire life. Also, I knew Dead Cells was supposed to be good but man, it's like really fucking good. Best blind purchase I've made in a while.
