TCP
I thought RE7 was supposed to be a return to form (albeit in the first person). Oh well, these games are all too spooky for me to play. Hopefully Evil Within 2 has a mode where it's less scary. toxicitizen
Yeah, I meant when it came out. Evil Within was way better than RE5, RE6 and the Revelations games. Not sure about RE7, to be honest. I might actually like TEW more, I'd need to replay it to be sure.

Mister Jack
So, the Microsoft conference. It was okay I guess. I didn't see a whole lot to love in there, but not really anything to hate either. All the good stuff is multiplatform. So it's really not much to write home about, but at least they didn't completely embarrass themselves like EA did. Xbox One X is a stupid fucking name, though. Eleven
I was hoping they would say ALL XBOX 360 GAMES!! would be backwards compatible. But I guess XBOX games works as well.. If only Sony put in more effort with their backwards compatibility. People shit on MS for Xbox One but all the stuff they're doing (including their Download and Play subscription service and play anywhere) pretty much trounces what Sony does. Except for their exclusives, which is a shame... And I thought that conference was pretty good. If only I had an Xbox One... Maybe I shouldn't have gotten the pro... deanb
Yeah a lot of the games were Microsofts extremely flexible use of the term "exclusive". Heck wouldn't be surprised to find that even that Porsche had been shown elsewhere already too (like..what was up with that. It's E3 not a car show :P) Still cool to see some stuff from AC, and Shadow of War (I quite liked Bruz n his Kiwi dialogue) and Metro looked pretty (though I've yet to fully do the other Metro games. Need to spend some time with them I think). It says a lot on their range of indie games too that I loaded up FB after the conference and Steam n GOG page had both been posting about Atokomo (or whatever it was). Scorpio is nearing PS3 launch price which is going to be a hard sell for pushing it up to 4K when PS4 Pro is cheaper (and word on wind is getting a price cut) for also doing 4K if you have the telly. It does do 4K blu-ray though (which is an admittedly odd oversight for the Pro). Their naming scheme continues to suck mind and saw a good tweet on confused parents come Nov looking at shelves n being "wait...did my kid want the Xbox One S or the Xbox One X...huh none of the games on the shelves say they're for either console...I guess I'll get the cheaper one"
toxicitizen
So, the Devolver conference is pretty much the best conference ever.
Mister Jack
It's certainly the most bizarre E3 presentation I've ever seen.
TCP
I thought it was trash. You know, I kind of like the idea of Bethesda's more than mods but not quiet DLC. Keep my games expanding forever in meaningful ways, I'm in. It'd be nice if this stuff had trophies/achievements too.
Mister Jack
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Fuck the Creation Club. I know paid mods when I see it, Bethesda. I'm on to your shit.
Thursday Next
But X Box One X spells "XBOX"... I can't wait for the X Box One X Overclocked New Edition.

toxicitizen
Damn, I really hope that toy space game isn't the only project Ubisoft Toronto are working on. If this is Clint Hocking's game and they don't announce anything again this year, I think I'm gonna have to give up on Splinter Cell. Mr. GOH!
Who'd have thought Ubi would have the best E3 showing so far? It's weird world we're living in these days.
toxicitizen
Meh, they didn't really have a whole lot that I'm all that excited for and they failed to announce a new Splinter Cell. PC Gaming Show was the best one for me, by far. They finally have a normal format like the other conferences and they showed way more stuff that I'm interested in. TCP
The PC gaming show had the best announcer, I'll give them that much. Edited June 14, 2017 by Cowboy Danger Poet
toxicitizen
That was kind of underwhelming from Sony. Can't win every year, I guess. Also, am I the only one confused as to why they're remaking Shadow of the Colossus? It just seems... unnecessary.
TheMightyEthan
Huh, I came away with the opposite impression, Sony's was the best so far. *Edit - So far this year, I mean. Edited June 13, 2017 by TheMightyEthan
toxicitizen
I was hoping for at least one major new game reveal or something. Days Gone, Lost Legacy, God of War and Spider-Man all looked cool but we already knew about all of them and none of the gameplay really blew me away. Detroit looks kinda meh and I'm not really a Monster Hunter fan, so that one did nothing for me. I'm not saying it was awful, Sony are just the ones I usually have the highest expectations from. This has been a pretty good E3 so far, all things considered.
TCP
Damned if they do, damned if they don't. The past few weeks the narrative was that the games Sony shows at E3 are years out. So this year they reeled it back and focused on games coming out, for the most part, in the next 12 months. And now everyone's annoyed they didn't announce a bunch of games. toxicitizen
Yeah, that's really dumb. People need to learn some damn patience. If they have something that's ready to be shown, they should show it regardless of how far off the actual game is. Just don't go full retard and start showing concept art and tech demos like EA and Square-Enix did last year. Sometimes I like knowing that a game exists ahead of time. Like, it's cool that Evil Within 2 is coming in just 4 months but I would've been fine waiting a year or longer instead of having to wonder if the IP was dead.
TCP
If only the lazy fucking developers would type their 0s and 1s a little faster and games could get completed in 18 months - 2 years like films.
Mister Jack
I was at work all day and just now got the chance to catch up on today's shows. Ubi was kind of eh for me. They finally made that pirate game I wanted except it's esports shit. They finally revealed Beyond Good and Evil 2 again...and it's a god damn prequel. South Park was neat, but we've known about that game for ages. I still don't care about Assassin's Creed and that spaceship game is doomed to fail. That Rabbids game did not win me over either. It's such a blatant XCOM ripoff that it's embarrassing. Also there is no way that Far Cry 5 trailer was "actual gameplay." You're not gonna trick me again, Ubi. At least they kept the Just Dance cringe to a minimum. I'd give them a C. Sony was good. It wasn't great. It was good. Some of the VR games looked kind of neat. I particularly like the idea behind Moss and would like to know more about it. Uncharted looked okay but I'm kind of burned out on that series at this point. I also don't really feel much excitement for Days Gone. I already played Last of Us and that game doesn't seem very different. I did like what they showed from Dad of War though. Oh yeah, Team Ico games are overrated. There, I said it. Spiderman looked pretty good, although there were a lot more QTEs than I would like. I hope they're not that prevalent throughout the entire game. I'd give them a B-, mostly for Spiderman. So I guess I'd say Sony won? But this year was so underwhelming that that isn't saying much. PC show was a snoozefest. I didn't even bother finishing it. If you don't like survival or RTS games there's really nothing for you there. Also, if I never see another fucking Skyrim announcement in my life it will be too soon.
Mal
Oh hey, a Monster Hunter game on PC. Hopefully it's good? And I'm not going to lie, Shadow of the Colossus remake is pretty neat. First time players might be in a for a treat... well, maybe not the control scheme but it does work... Edited June 13, 2017 by Mal

I only tried a demo for one of the PSP games and didn't really get it but I'd be willing to give it another shot. Monster Hunter is one of those series that's not insanely popular but the people that are into it seem to be really into it. It just ends up making me super curious because it kinda feels like I'm missing out on something. Same reason I'm curious about Ace Combat 7.
