deanb
Teaser trailer all we have so far. Not sure if the wording means that it's a Scorpio only thing but we'll find out more tomorrow (e.g if MS say "Console exclusive" or "timed exclusive" or whatever form of "not really an Xbox exclusive game" they use). Nothing in the description to provide hints. Seems aesthetically a bit like Destiny, especially the Russia area. "The wall" stuff doesn't really dissuade that comparison. Not sure that post Andromeda (I know a different studio, but he post ME3 also valid) that there's much hype for Bioware stuff atm.
TCP
Is this what "Project Dylan" is? "The Bob Dylan of video games"? Do they know who Bob Dylan is?
deanb
Yeah.
MetalCaveman
I like the art style, would have loved if they showed more about it, but I guess we'll have to wait a bit.
TCP
Better not be an Xbox exclusive.
Mr. GOH!
It's probably gonna be a Destiny clone, i.e. multiplayer only or multiplayer focused garbage. Hope I'm wrong.

Honestly, if Microsoft are gonna keep buying third-party exclusives, a present day Bioware game would be one of the least upsetting scenarios imaginable. I'll gladly sacrifice them on that particular altar over a studio like Platinum.
TCP
I'd still take Bioware over Platinum. Bioware has one questionable game, ME:A. But Platinum has TMNT, Star Fox Zero, Transformers Devastation, Wonderful 101, Scalebound, and of course, Legend of Korra (for which I will never forgive them). Just because they happen to release a Bayonetta or Nier:A every few years doesn't excuse their BS. #sorrynotsorry
TheMightyEthan
I would include among Bioware's questionable games DA2, ME3, DAI (even though I really liked it), and ME:A. But I still would take them over Platinum just because I've never really liked any of Platinum's games.
TCP
Ok fair enough about DA2, but DAI was fairly universally well received, at least a lot better than the games I mentioned. ME3 was a great game with a questionable ending.
toxicitizen
Bioware hasn't made a game I've wanted to play since Mass Effect 3, and even that one was just to finish the trilogy. Platinum was just the first example that came to mind of a dev I'd actually care about. Besides, your list is a bit off. Transformers Devastation was fine and, from what I've heard, Wonderful 101 is easily one of their best games. They've had some stinkers but those were almost all rushed licensed games or suffered from publisher meddling. What's Bioware's excuse? @TheMightyEthan Just want to be clear I'm only liking the first half of your comment!
TCP
Say what you want about Bioware, they've never tried to give us a protagonist that looks like this: I mean he literally has glowing headphones. Bioware Edmonton meanwhile is the developer that tries to develop games that are the Bob Dylan of video games. NOBEL PRIZE, FLD. Sorry, I don't mean to pick a fight with you, I just really hate Platinum, and object strongly to them being ranked among the best developers. I'm happy you like their games though!
TheMightyEthan
@FLD And I'm only liking the part of yours directed at me. As someone who played Wonderful 101 because of all the good things I heard, I can honestly say I have no idea why everyone liked it so much. It wasn't outright bad, but it certainly wasn't anything special.
TCP
FLD is just bitter that the Bioware that lives near him is the crappy Bioware and the Bioware that lives near me are a bunch of ballers.
toxicitizen
PlatinumGames are very similar to FromSoftware where they excel at a very specific type of games and your view of them largely depends on whether you like those or not. Also I guess they both dislike having spaces in their names. If you didn't care for Bayonetta (which is objectively one of the best action games of all time!!), then you probably won't see anything special in W101, no. 29 minutes ago, Cowboy Danger Poet said: Say what you want about Bioware, they've never tried to give us a protagonist that looks like this: I mean he literally has glowing headphones. You say that as if tacky headphones aren't a thing that actually exist. And that still looks massively better than anything in Andromeda. 24 minutes ago, Cowboy Danger Poet said: FLD is just bitter that the Bioware that lives near him is the crappy Bioware and the Bioware that lives near me are a bunch of ballers. You can keep them! Hell, you can have both of them! I'll trade you my Bioware for Klei any time. Edited June 10, 2017 by FLD
Mr. GOH!
Why is everyone talking Dragon Age and Mass Effect? This is going to be a multiplayer game along the lines of Destiny. Don't expect the story to be anything but window dressing.
TCP
Then my fucks are at zero.
TheMightyEthan
Did they say it's going to be multiplayer? Because that's what everyone's assuming but I haven't been able to figure out why.
Hot Heart
I would say The Old Republic might serve as a guide for the MMO-like structure, with Mass Effect-like combat. Given that no one remembered TOR, that probably doesn't bode well.
deanb
Best I can make out on the MP front is that in their financial reports it's referred to as "socially connected", which could mean anything from like ghost cars to MMO. We'll find out more later today. Also glowing headphones are totally a thing. Tacky as hell, but they're a thing. There's even a company that makes headphones with glowing wires. Mr. GOH!
"The game is built around a live service, and through our creative process, we've decided to add more to the disruptive new social designs for our players." - Bioware's Casey Hudson That's code for multiplayer. Or an episodic game a la Hitman, which could be okay, I suppose. I suspect multiplayer, though. Edit: the rumors are that it's somewhere between the Division and Destiny. Two games I have less than zero interest in ever playing. Edited June 11, 2017 by Mr. GOH!
TheMightyEthan
Thanks @Mr. GOH!, that perfectly answers my question. Also, the game has already been delayed from Spring 2018 to Fall 2018. Spoiler I know it was probably just a mistake and not an actual delay, but it's still funny.
Mr. GOH!
In case you missed it, this is a Destiny clone.
Eleven
I think I need a little more info before I can decide between this and Destiny 2. Destiny 2 has the lead since I'm already familiar with Destiny and I know I'll probably enjoy it, especially with their new additions in 2. Looks great though. Also it's a third person shooter, which I prefer, but I don't really like the space marine costumes. So boring.
deanb
The aesthetic is kinda mixed up all over the place in the city area, but yeah very much looks like Destiny with the charachters. Like shockingly so. Having jump packs I guess adds some kind of difference. Curious how open world it'll be (though Destiny 2 also meant to be expanding it's "open world" aspect). Dude in the background even has a half-cloak. Like sure it's not unique to Destiny, but come one...maybe also have more than three classes to at least marginalise some of the comparison.
