@TheMightyEthan Do you install PS5 games from the disc? How long does it take?

Yeah, you have to, you can't play straight from the disc. It depends how big the game is, but the drive's pretty fast, it doesn't take as long as PS4 certainly.

I was able to clear up about ~230 GB though just by deleting stuff that I had sitting on there in case I ever wanted to play it but that I wasn't likely to play anytime soon.

More like 10 minutes. I can download on my connection at 20-30 MB/s, and installing off a disc tends to take about 1/2 to 2/3 as long as a download.

But yeah, I mostly use discs because I mostly play singleplayer story-driven games, so when I'm done with them I can sell them on and put that money towards more games.

I'm going to try and wait for the "slim", unless we hear rumours about a pro, as that approaches.

Due to a combination of price, size, availability and my general lack of desire to game at the moment, I think I'm safe holding out for the PRO or however they work it this generation. May finally play through a bit of my  backlog, instead of my usual tactic of selling consoles and giving games away.

Have they made any changes to PS Plus? Heard a few people saying how great MS game pass is and that PS Plus is looking a bit sad in comparison

It's also worth mentioning that if you haven't played all the big PS4 releases, getting plus on the PS5 also gets you a big collection of the PS4's greatest hits to play with some pretty solid titles on the list.

Do they still have the annoying issue that you have to "buy" the free game in the month it's on offer?

To be fair, you can "claim" via the app, and on desktop site as well as the PS5 itself. It's no different to the Epic thing really where you have to "get" the game, add to library, whatever, Stadia does the same. It's a bit of a pain, but a low lift really.

I don't currently have PS+ to do that. If I buy a PS5 in a year or two I'll only have that months games to start off and will have missed the previous 2 years. I think with the xbox game pass, it's more like a PRIME/netflix where you have access to the whole library of included games (subject to some coming in and out of the pass)? I just know a few people that specifically got the series X because of the pass, and not really anyone being positive about plus, it just seems a bit archaic

Yeah, that's fair. MS ahead of the pack in that sense. Stadia, PS Plus, Epic store is, I think, the norm at the mo.

You will still get the PS+ Collection, which is exclusive for PS5, and includes a bunch of the "major" games from the past generation (Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, The Last Guardian, etc). That's available to anyone with a PS5 and PS+, with no time limit to claim it announced so far, so it basically works like Gamepass (albeit with a much smaller library).

Jesus, the PS5 is still impossible to get your hands on. I signed up for Telegram alerts that go off on my phone the very second new stock comes in for ANY STORE ANYWHERE in the US and even then I still can't get one. I camped at the Wal-Mart website, waiting for them to open up orders at precisely 3:20 PM, and they were still completely gone in literally, literally three seconds. I counted.

Have you tried checking back a few minutes later? Sometimes they don't release all their inventory right at the same time. When I snagged my preorder, I had missed one of those notifications by like 15 minutes, but I thought "what the hell, I'll check anyway" and they were out of stock, but then I refreshed once and they were back in stock, and I was able to get it. That was at Walmart.
