toxicitizen
Wow, that is cool but I hope the internal mechanism isn't built cheap because I can just picture someone not realizing what's happening and just trying to force them lol.
TheMightyEthan
This article has more examples:  https://www.techradar.com/news/heres-how-ps5-games-will-be-improved-by-the-dualsense-controllers-capabilities  A couple of ones I especially like the idea of are using it for Spidey-sense in Miles Morales, so you can feel which direction attacks are coming from, and in Gran Turismo it letting you feel how well your tires are gripping the road just like you can with the pedals in a real car. TheMightyEthan
Sony confirms the upgrade situation with Spider-Man and Miles Morales to Kotaku. Short clear version:  If you buy the PS4 version of Miles Morales, you can upgrade to PS5 version for free (we pretty much already knew this). You cannot upgrade to the PS5 remastered version of the original Spider-Man game from the PS4 version. The Ultimate Edition, which includes both MM and SM remastered, is only available on PS5. If you buy the PS4 version of MM and upgrade to PS5, you will have the option to get SM remastered as an add-on for $20 (which is the same as the cost difference between MM standalone and ultimate on PS5). You can play the PS4 version of SM on PS5 through backwards compatibility, but it won't have any of the PS5 remastered version's enhancements. Still unclear if you buy the PS5 version of MM standalone if you can then get the SM remastered add-on for $20 also, but I would bet that you can. Apparently I can't read, because it clearly says if you buy the PS5 version of MM you are also eligible to get the $20 SM remastered upgrade. TheMightyEthan
Apparently the PS5's power supply is only 350W. That's kind of nuts, my PC draws a little more than 500 under load.

deanb
https://support.playstation.com/s/article/backward-compatibility?language=en_US&lan= Â List of PS4 games that won't work on PS5. It's pretty small list.
TheMightyEthan
That's really cool, only 11 PS4 games won't work backwards compatible.
Mister Jack
I don't care about any of those games but I do wonder why it's those specific 11 that won't work.
toxicitizen
Probably something along the lines of "amount of work required to get game running on PS5 is not zero and game is unlikely to make us any more money", so the devs couldn't be bothered. Â Like, that list is mostly stuff I've never heard of, mediocre trash or Hitman Go. Shadow Complex is the only one I'd consider a game worth putting any effort into. TheMightyEthan
My guess is that most games work fine with the backwards compatibility system without any effort required at all from the devs, but a few of them would require tweaks to fix specific issues for those games, and of those few that require tweaks these are the ones that the devs said it's not worth it. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, that UI is badass. I hope third party devs actually use the hints thing, because it seems way more convenient than pulling out my phone and trying to find something explaining it reasonably.  I also really like that the activities give you an estimated time to complete, so you don't sit down with 45 minutes to play and end up getting into something that's going to take an hour and a half without realizing it. I hope those times are based on actual user data though, and not just developer estimates.  *Edit - Others have noted that the PIP thing with your friends' games could be great for playing coop games too, so you can kind of keep an eye on what's going on with them. Mister Jack
Being able to look up hints right there on the screen is my favorite feature too. Whenever I play games with collectibles or a bunch of secrets I've just gotten into the habit of keeping my tablet by my side to occasionally stop and look things up. Not having to do that anymore would be great.
TheMightyEthan
Apparently you can turn off the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in the accessibility options on PS5, which is cool, because I know some people with disabilities were concerned those features would cause them problems while playing. Â What's less cool is that their justification for not letting you use a DS4 on PS5 is that it doesn't support haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which are necessary for PS5 games, but if you can turn those features off then that explanation doesn't hold any water...
