Mudkip3DS
I always joke to myself that man has gotten so lazy over the last half of the 20th century that he can't even be bothered to say two syllables in a row anymore, thus the preference for saying "gay" over "stupid." And, of course, choosing to type out "nub" instead of "n00b" or "newbie. " To be perfectly honest here, though, whenever someone uses "gay" as a general insult, it really comes off as immature and childish to me. I'm just thinking in my head, "Seriously? Are you 16 or something? Give it a break, man."

Battra92
My biggest problem with gay rights groups is they are all extreme leftist groups with all the irrelevant baggage that goes with it. Logically I'd think they'd be Libertarians. I take a Libertarian view of gay people. They can be gay all they want as long as they STFU about it . I'm also for the government getting out of the marriage business and declare all marriages as "Civil Unions" in the eyes of the law. So to your church you are married but to the government it's a civil union.

Showmeyomoves!
Yup. Separation of Church and State is a beautiful thing.
Battra92
Yup. Separation of Church and State is a beautiful thing. What's interesting is I actually heard a Christian group on one of the Christian channels on XM make the argument for it. They added the additional argument that two unmarried men with no other family who were best friends but not homosexual could also get a civil union together with all the rights (and risks) associated with it. Showmeyomoves!
Religious people who are for separation of Church and State are the kind of religious people I have absolutely no problem with.
Minirova
Too bad the Christians probably don't even accept them because they have a different opinion than the general consensus.
deanb
I'm also for the government getting out of the marriage business and declare all marriages as "Civil Unions" in the eyes of the law. So to your church you are married but to the government it's a civil union. See this seems the most elegant solution to it all I'm unsure why so few nations are doing it. As mentioned in old country UK has a somewhat similar set up with Civil Partnerships and Marriage being legally the same. Buut restrictions on gay marriage on religious tit tat being included. Don't completely know why, though I imagine it's the CofE stuff. So yeah Marriage should just be relegated to the ceremony, a decorative feature to a civil union. Too bad the Christians probably don't even accept them because they have a different opinion than the general consensus. Don't Christians out-number pretty much every other religion n atheist/agnostic anyway? So aren't they the 'general consensus'?
Showmeyomoves!
I think what Mini meant was, the Christians who support SoC&S are in the minority within the (American) Christian community.
