EA finally added achievements to most of the games they recently put on Steam so I grabbed this while it was on sale. Gonna play it once I'm done with Control.

Lack of achievements wasn't going to stop me from getting it eventually but it made their big return to Steam seem like such a lazy half-measure that I felt no rush to grab them anytime soon. Like, all of these games already had achievements implemented, it was just a matter of adding calls to the Steam API. Even Jedi Fallen Order only just got them along with the rest, which is ridiculous since it was on Steam at launch.

I might actually give Dragon Age another shot now. I bounced off of Dragon Age II pretty hard once I realized it was all going to be set in that one fucking city, but Inquisition seemed like it could be alright. I'd bite for like 10 bucks or so.

Inquisition is pretty great, as is Catalyst.

Good to know!

Also, I can't remember, was Catalyst a reboot? I'm wondering if it's worth replaying the original first since it's so short. I can probably run it with PhysX on without killing the framerate now, too.

Yes, Catalyst was a reboot.

I didn't even realize the original supported PhysX. What does it use it for?

What MetalCaveman said. I remember always turning it off at this one corridor with windows on both sides. IIRC a helicopter starts shooting at you, the windows all explode into pieces and the game always slowed down to a crawl lol.

There is a PSVR sale so I have purchased:

Tilt Brush

Tilt Brush was one of my first VR experiences (though with a Oculus dev kit). Those who were around for my upset about Dreams demo; this was essentially the experience I was eyeballing. Wasn't aware until now they'd ported this over to PSVR.

Gun Club VR - Launch Trailer | PS VR - YouTube

I've been watching quite a bit of "Forgotten Weapons" lately, figure this might scratch a similar itch.

I think they're both pretty fugly, but I can't give up my ability to sell games after I'm done with them. It enables me to buy so many more games than I otherwise would. And even on sale, the digital versions rarely get as cheap as used physical copies, or even new physical copy sales, not even taking into account the ability to sell them back later.

Digital consoles are always a mistake. There's all kinds of places where you could get a discounted disc. You can even trade with your friends if you want to. But digital? The discounts you get are entirely based on the whims of the company that makes the console. It might seem cheaper in the short term but in the long run the 500 dollar one will save you more.

Back to the fugliness: it actually doesn't look as bad to me as when they were first announced. I'm actually to the point where I think they look pretty good when they're just floating in a void like in marketing shots, but I still think it's going to look ridiculous under my TV.

So I got my pre-order via "Accessories Warehouse". I don't suppose anyone (British) has experience with them? I'm going to keep looking until hopefully John Lewis has a digital edition for sale since they have a free 2 year warranty, but at least I have (in theory) booked my spot.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

I ordered the PS4 version just on the slight chance something goes wrong with my PS5 preorder I'll still be able to play it, and Sony's made clear that with their launch games you can just pop the PS4 version disc into the PS5 and play the full PS5 version.

1600376662-Super-Mario-3D-All-Stars.jpg?

I scraped up some money for this, although I'm buying it now mostly because there are only three more games I'm interested in playing this year (Cyberpunk, Crash Bandicoot, Yakuza) assuming they're not terrible. They're still a ways off though and I'm bored at home in quarantine mode right now so I need some shit to play.
