danielpholt
I'm excited to see what Cyberpunk is, and The Last of Us 2 will be an experience I'm eager to check out, but I think Twelve Minutes takes the top spot in terms of what I'm really excited to play. What games are you most excited about in 2020?
MetalCaveman
HELL YEAH! \m/ \m/ DOOM 2016 quickly shot to the top of my favourite games list, and everything I've seen/read/heard about ETERNAL makes it sound way WAY better in every way, the new soundtrack is MONSTROUS too, so yeah, I can't wait! \m/ \m/
Mister Jack
Tough call. There's some great stuff slated for this year just like it was really hard to choose last year. If I absolutely have to pick one, though, I'm going to go with the FFVII Remake simply because this game has been hyped up for, what, ten years? And what we've seen so far looks pretty great. Mal
While there's plenty of big games coming out this year but I like my smaller games so it's a pretty simple choice for me. VA11 HALL-A is seriously one of my favorites (surprising, right?) so N1RV Ann-A is easily my choice. Visual novels man... arguably they hardly qualifies as games but they can sure pack a punch in everything else. if I were to choose a gameplay oriented game... To be honest though, early access kind of dampens my desire for Bannerlord but shit, it's Bannerlord. I have been waiting for this for a long time. Bring on the early access drama! So many skulls to choose to drink from! I got another game in mind that kind of combines a great, overaching story (4th game in it's series and 9th overall) and pretty alright gameplay but got to wait for an announcement. Hell, it might not show up this year but it'll come.
toxicitizen
As happy as I am that REmake 3 is happening and coming in just a few short months, even that doesn't come remotely close to Cyberpunk 2077 for me. Especially now that I'm finally playing Witcher 3 and finding it to be, somehow, even better than I expected. The closest I can think of would be MGS5 or MGS4 before it. And even Death Stranding I'm having a more measured level of anticipation for now that the mystery of what it actually is has been lifted. I'm super on board for a weird Kojima game and on any other year the PC release would be my most anticipated game. But Cyberpunk, man. It's not even just that it could be a replacement for Deus Ex, which is pretty much confirmed to be dead again. It's that if Cyberpunk fully delivers on its potential then I might not even need Deus Ex to be a thing anymore. Cyberpunk actually looks like it could easily be my favorite game of all time and I genuinely can't remember the last time I've had expectations this high or been this excited for a game. And then, as if that wasn't enough, they went ahead and put fucking Keanu Reeves in it!
TCP
A direct follow up to one of the best games of all time. No pressure!! In all honesty though, just give us more Hyrule to explore, make Zelda playable, and give us a few proper dungeons in addition to new shrines to explore and everyone will be should be happy. At this point I'm operating under the assumption that this will be Nintendo's big fall release. I don't see what else it could be. I don't think Bayonetta 3 has enough appeal. Pokemon is in DLC mode all year. Metroid Prime 4 is too far behind. Unless Odyssey 2 is secretly in development and ready for release, I just don't see what else it could be.

TheMightyEthan
As of right now Zelda is my most anticipated game of the year, but given the tradition of Zelda games being delayed it will probably end up slipping to 2021, in which case Cyberpunk takes its slot for 2020 for me. I just can't picture Pikmin as a big holiday game... not in the way Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Pokemon Sword/Shield were. Pikmin 4 and those rumoured Paper Mario and 2D Metroid are great mid-year games though.
TheMightyEthan
I would be all the fuck over Pikmin 4, but I agree it's not a big holiday release like some of Nintendo's other games. We also have a rumored Mario Rabbids sequel, which I would love, but again isn't a big tentpole game.
danielpholt
Clearly this leaves only one option. The sequel you didn't know you needed, to a game you probably didn't play. 2 Edited January 24, 2020 by danielpholt
TheFlyingGerbil
I can't believe I actually looked up if there was going to be a sequel. Mind you, you never can tell with Nintendo.
