WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY MAXIMA | Nintendo Switch download software | Games | Nintendo

Got this for the Switch in the recent eShop sale. Reviews said that the Switch version was a bit "fuzzy" but looks fine on the Lite. Kind of an ideal game for the Switch really in that it's not really pushing graphics super hard , just a very set aesthetic.

Also got the "HyperX Cloud II 7.1". Not had a chance to play with the 7.1 side of things (it's ultimately still a standard 3.5mm jack on the end so fairly sure it'll be faking it). But it's really comfortable and I like that the microphone is detachable (though I strongly suspect I'm going to lose it some point)

Amazon.com: Guilty Gear -Strive- - PlayStation 5: Video Games

I used to be a HUGE Guilty Gear fan. I was pretty good at it too, good enough to do well for myself in the local competitive scene. Despite that, I held off on getting this for a while because I heard it had gotten a major overhaul to make it simpler and easier for the sake of people who are new to fighting games. Everyone online seems to love it though so I decided to take the plunge. I thought I'd have to be relearning how to play Guilty Gear entirely from scratch but after only two online matches the game has already put me on floor 8 out of 10 on the battle tower so I guess I'm in pretty good shape.

Final Fantasy I and II are finally on Steam! I know some people are impossible to please and will always find something to bitch and whine about but I'm pretty happy with these, personally. The sprites and backgrounds all look great to me and the remastered music is fantastic! And there's even a scanlines filter which I was hoping for but, this being Square-Enix, that I honestly didn't expect.

The english font looks ugly but turns out you can easily swap it with the Japanese one and it looks much better. A pixelated font would be nice but it's not something that's going to keep me from enjoying these.

I would probably think they look great except Squenix has already spoiled me with the Octopath HD2D style that the DQ remake is in.

Eh, HD2D looks great but I can't say I'd necessarily want everything in that style. I'm glad that they released versions of the games that are both well made and close to their original form.

I think it's mostly the price people are upset about with this one. 75 dollars for the complete set of games when they're this old is a little steep.

Oh no, people were super negative and nitpicky about the most insane shit from the outset. I've seen complaints ranging from "the new sprites look better than the original but worse than this one specific version from 17 years ago so it's shit" all the way to "the new sprites and backgrounds are even worse than  the ugly mobile remakes and they ruin the art style!!!". Shit, I've seen complaining about the quality of the fucking menus. Like, it made me wonder if I was taking crazy pills because it all looks great to me?

I get that they appear to have unified the games to a common art style that might be slightly lower quality than like... some versions of FFVI or whatever. But they all look great so who gives a fuck? The price, lack of console releases for now and missing bonus content from some rereleases are all valid things to be unhappy about but that's not even close to being all people were complaining about.

Like, I get being pessimistic when it comes to Square-Enix; that company has a knack for fucking up in the most asinine ways. But some people are weirdly intense about pixel art, I guess. It's funny though because now that they're actually out the overall impressions are incredibly positive. So this was just people freaking out over nothing and could've been avoided if Square-Enix hadn't been so secretive about the games for the last month or so.

Batman: Arkham VR

I was listening to Kinda Funny Games Daily, and one of them mentioned in passing that when he got his PSVR and played Arkham VR his reaction was that it was so cool that it justified his whole PSVR purchase, even if he never got another good game for it (that was Star Wars: Squadrons for me). So on a whim I checked and it's currently on sale on PSN for $5, so I grabbed it.

Over the past few weeks I've fallen back into old buying habits pretty hard. ?

Everything except for Iceborne and SFV Champion Edition upgrade was pretty cheap (5-10 bucks) but that's still an entirely unnecessary amount of game purchases for no particular reason. My wallet felt better when I was deep in depression and stopped caring about video games... ?

Grabbed this a few days ago. Total impulse purchase but I'm really glad I got it. I love me some Tetris and I've long wanted a good version of it on Steam. I could never quite grasp the Puyo Puyo half of Puyo Puyo Tetris so that one didn't fully click for me. Tetris Effect is just plain old Tetris, though, and not only that it might actually be my favorite version of it ever. There's just something about the ambient levels and soundtrack that immediately puts me into this zen state of mind. The first time I played it I immediately started feeling relaxed and I can't think of a single game that's ever had that effect on me.

It does feel a bit pricy but the discount and free DLC for the Steam launch made it easier to swallow. And this being Tetris, I figure I'll be playing it essentially forever so the 34$ CAD price didn't seem too unreasonable to me all things considered.

It has a bunch of cool extra modes that I haven't really looked at yet if that matters, although at this point I'm sure any version of Tetris has something similar. Other than that, if I had access to a VR headset I'd probably be even happier with it. And like I said, it's pretty much the coolest version of Tetris I've ever played. The tiny bit of buyer's remorse I felt went away completely as soon as I tried it.

But yeah, I guess it depends on how much you love/want Tetris. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
