Games You've Bought 2021 - Let's try this 20's thing again

A remaster would be fun, IMO it still looks kinda good, so a patch to the current version would work, but a complete remaster/remake would be cool.

Idk, I don't know the PS4/Xbone -> PS5/Series is really a big enough jump to justify remakes, just resolution and framerate bumps.

Comparing Bloodborne on PS4 with the Demon's Souls remake... I'd say for these games it IS worth a full blown remake, though I doubt they would do it. Bloodborne doesn't look as bad as Demon's Souls on PS3, but even with that, the difference between BB on PS4 and DS for PS5 is enough that I wouldn't mind if they went that route. :P

Yeah, what Bloodborne really needs is a remaster or, at least, an update to boost the resolution and framerate and fix the fucked up framepacing. Not sure what a full-blown remake just a single gen later could possibly add of significance, tbh. Ray-tracing, I guess? But that's just lighting and could easily fall under the purview of a remaster. The game isn't that old, the 3D assets are still fine lol. There's very little to gain in rebuilding the entire game from scratch.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury

I'd been trying to hold off on this, and had started playing Mario Odyssey again* to try to fill that niche, but all that accomplished was making me want this even more, so here we are.

*Side note, Mario Odyssey is a much much better game than I gave it credit for the first time around. I always knew it was good, but for whatever reason it didn't strike me as top-tier Mario. Now though I think it has supplanted Mario Sunshine as my favorite 3D Mario, which is quite the achievement since Super Mario 3D All-Stars just proved to me that Sunshine really was as good as I remembered.

If you want to use it wirelessly, yes.

Booooo! Why!?! I *hate* this. The console has more fucking antennae than the entire fucking Apollo program but you still have to plug more shit in to connect some fucking headphones. Headphones which can be plugged into the fucking wireless controller and then don't need a dongle.

It. Is. Maddening!

Oh, thanks by the way. lol

Yeah it's disappointing but I just put the dongle into the USB slot and then put a usb-c to usb-c cable into the other port for everything else. If there is something I have to knock on the PS5's design it's that there aren't enough ports. Hooking up the VR alone took up both ports on the back.

What all do you need ports for? I have PSVR using both ports in the back, then I have a USB-C to USB-C plugged into that port in the front for charging the controller, which leaves the USB-A in the front for the dongle. I agree it's less than ideal to have the dongle in the front, but as far as number of ports it seems like enough.

You could also probably use a USB hub in the back to get more ports back there.

Well I had to buy a new cable to use that port in the first place, which was an extra 20 bucks, so I didn't really appreciate that. But it was either that or constantly switch out between the controller and the dongle. I have plenty of usb-A to usb-c cables lying around, but I didn't have any usb-c to usb-c because that's not a thing I ever needed until now, and I'm a guy with a fair number of usb-c devices.

No, you're right, it was A-to-C. I was thinking it was C-to-C because I bought myself a longer C-to-C cable for charging the controller, because at launch there was a bug where the USB-A port on the front wasn't getting power in standby mode, so you couldn't charge a controller off of it. I wanted a longer cable anyway so I could charge while playing, so it didn't really affect me, just meant I bought a different cable.

Immortals Fenyx Rising (no colon!)

Immortals Fenyx Rising (Nintendo Switch): Amazon.co.uk: PC & Video Games

This was on sale and I kinda found the Stadia demo okay. Figure even if it's not at its best on Switch I'm on a Lite so not like it'll be blown up to a 55" 4K TV.

Final Fantasy VII Remake - Wikipedia

This was also on sale. I'd kinda wanted to hold of until the full thing was out but I'm aware that won't be for ages and hey £20 ain't too bad.
