TheFlyingGerbil
I watched the fantastic mr. fox last night. I really enjoyed it, but then I've never not liked a Wes Anderson film. His style really appeals to me, and I thought it translated well in to an animated film.
excel_excel
Watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist last night on Netflix. Quite enjoyable, pleasently surprised to find out that it all took place over one night unlike regular romantic comedies which take place over weeks and months. Also saw The Girl Who Leapt Through Time a few weeks ago, which was just great, refreshing to see completely normal looking teens in an anime film.

Such a great film. If you haven't already, you should see Summer Wars, made by the same director, which is more fantastical than TGWLTT but just as wonderful.
Yantelope V2
The Grey. Stay after the credits. Why?
Chewblaha
The Grey. Stay after the credits. Why? I will spoil what you see when you do: You see the alpha wolf sprawled across the snow, breathing heavily. I can only assume it was dying, just as the wolf earlier in the movie did when Ottway shot it. Pretty sure that Ottway killed the wolf in his fight. I think there would have to be a second movie coming out for it. Too much stuff happened at the end of the movie for there NOT to be some kind of follow up. The stacking of the wallets, turning the tracker on with the watch. All that stuff.
Connorrrr
Oh yeah, I forgot. I watched Tyrannosaur last night. It was very good. Oliva Colman is very good, it's got some rather difficult to see scenes, and it's pretty glum, but yes, I recommend it!
Connorrrr
Buuumping it up. I watched Taxi Driver for the first time today. Very good!
Nexus
The Muppets Movie! It was fantabulous. I was smiling throughout it. Also the songs are great.
Dee
Last great movie I saw was The Artist. I am thoroughly proud of me for making myself get off my lazy ass and go to the theater. It was definitely worth the $8.50 I paid for the movie ticket and however much my popcorn and water cost : D
Mister Jack
Hunger Games. My friend dragged me to see it so I really had no idea what to expect but it was a very entertaining film. I will say I'm surprised it squeaked by with a PG-13. For a series that's obviously supposed to be the next Harry Potter or Twilight it's pretty fucking grim.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Glad to hear you liked it. I'll probably try to see it this weekend.

I will say I'm surprised it squeaked by with a PG-13. For a series that's obviously supposed to be the next Harry Potter or Twilight it's pretty fucking grim. Harry Potter does get quite dark, but I am surprised they managed to get away with so much. I guess there was no real blood seen, or swearing. It sticks faithfully to the book too, which is good. Only a few things changed/cut.
Ozymandias
Donnie Darko.
TheMightyEthan
It sticks faithfully to the book too, which is good. Only a few things changed/cut. Apparently the author of the book is the one who wrote the film adaptation also, so that's probably why.
Mister Jack
That wouldn't have helped the Twilight movies.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Yeah so I watched The Shining and the first Alien movie for the first time. Both were fantastic. Love how they aren't afraid to draw out shots to build tension and atmosphere. Alien was particularly wonderful. Now onto Aliens!
CorgiShinobi
Hunger Games. I've read the books, and the movie actually improves on some areas of the book. It brings in different perspectives because the entire series is only through Katniss's eyes. You hardly read anything on the Game Maker, but in the film you actually get to see him and more of President Snow. Heck, they really fleshed out Snow because the first book just gives you the impression that he's an ass, not a cold, unforgiving tyrant. Not to mention they tied in to the second book in a more progressive, realistic method. FYI, some of the kills are tone down, but overall it's still satisfying. Best film this year to see a teen get his neck snapped, or throat slashed.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Aliens. Seriously grand.
Yantelope V2
Aliens is James Cameron at his finest. That and T2 are still his best movies.
TheMightyEthan
I like Aliens better than Alien, but I think that's more a genre thing than anything about their quality.
Yantelope V2
Yeah, there's a definite shift between Riddley Scott and the survival horror of Alien to the action movie James Cameron Aliens. Two great films but both very different. Alien 3 and Resurrection didn't really work for me though. TheMightyEthan
AvP:R was actually pretty good, which surprised the hell out of me.
Yantelope V2
I have not seen either AvP movie. I kept meaning to but I heard that the first one was horrible.
