deanb
So many good lines. So what'd you think of Ruffallos Hulk/Bruce Banner? And his secret.
Hot Heart
Ruffalo did a good job. And Hulk sort of 'stole' most scenes he was in, which was pretty cool. Not sure Norton would've worked in the film, but I never saw him play Banner. Like Bana's Banner, maybe he might have seemed a bit too intense here. As for that secret, personally, that line didn't quite 'sing' like some of the others. Can't fault it though. Just so many great lines. P4: Gritty Reboot
Finally saw the first episode of Sherlock, and it was fantastic. Not sure if you count it as a movie, but either way I must say to the Britons around here: Blimey good chaps you've done it again.
Hot Heart
If I'm honest, I thought the first episode of Sherlock was a little lacking. Mainly because I was thinking to myself, "It shouldn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure this one out..." Although, I found episodes two and three jolly good romps for the most part. Also, we don't count them as films, technically. Just a series, but instead of 6 x 30 minutes episodes (the usual case) it is 3 x 90 minutes. That's 90 extra minutes of entertainment though!
P4: Gritty Reboot
Yeah i guess I was expecting some sort of revelation near the end while it ended up being... basically just what it seemed like from the beginning. Ah well it was enjoyable.
Hot Heart
As long as you enjoyed it, you should reaaally like the next two. And then episode one of the second series (personal favourite). ...and then possibly the last episode.

Hot Heart
What?! It's all uphill until S2E2.
TheFlyingGerbil
It was a reply to your first post but I got caught up watching The Voice (everyone seems to be singing miles worse than their auditions). You managed to knock P4 down from "...it was fantastic..." to "...ah well it was enjoyable...". That officially makes you a big meanie-bum. Hot Heart
That officially makes you a big meanie-bum. Eh, I've been called worse... P4: Gritty Reboot
Come to think of it, the show was pretty awful. Thanks a lot HH

TheFlyingGerbil
I think it's time to go and have some fun in the Doctor Who thread.

TheFlyingGerbil
in fairness that is the dumbest prop in any programme ever.
Mister Jack
The Pirates. I'm a sucker for claymation and this was easily the most impressive claymation ever done in a film. Even if we don't factor in the incredible animation, though, it was a genuinely entertaining movie.

SomTervo
As long as you enjoyed it, you should reaaally like the next two. And then episode one of the second series (personal favourite). ...and then possibly the last episode. The first episode of series 2 is one of the best things I've ever seen on TV. But I think the second (middle) episodes of both series' are really weak. Baskervilles was a fucking joke, paled next to The Woman.
Hot Heart
I think the second episode of S1 was my favourite of that series (only because I wasn't too fond of what they did with a certain character in the third episode). I found it an amusing little yarn, with some good interplay. Baskerville one had its moments but was pretty bad overall.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Alien 3. Was tempted to go for the "Last OK Movie" thread, but I enjoyed it enough in spite of its flaws to throw it up here.
TheFlyingGerbil
I just watched Gentlemen Broncos. I really liked it which is strange as I didn't like Napoleon Dynamite and I didn't even want to watch Nacho Libre. It did have Jennifer Coolidge who I love. Hot Heart
That is strange, because I liked Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre but was a little let down by Gentlemen Broncos. Edited May 3, 2012 by Hot Heart
TheFlyingGerbil
I need to give NAPOLEON dYNAMITE ANOTHER GO, I do have it on DVD. I think I could like it if I was in the right mood. I absolutely hate Jack Black though so I doubt Nacho Libre is for me.
Hot Heart
I'm not a huge fan of Jack Black so it was OK for me. Probably not if you hate him though. It did take me two viewings to like Napoleon Dynamite though. Gentlemen Broncos had its moments, maybe I need to give that another shot... CorgiShinobi
I didn't watch Napoleon Dynamite when it debuted back in 2004. In fact, I think it was early '07 when I actually watched the DVD. Absolutely without any hype, I enjoyed the film. I know the reason why I did was because I lived the majority of my life in a northwestern rural town, either a few miles from the border of Idaho or living in southern Idaho. It wasn't just that I could partially relate, but I liked the sense of humor. I always bust a gut when Napoleon throws a grapefruit at Uncle Rico's van causing him to scream like a girl. Other moments too, but during my own viewing, I must have rewound that scene a dozen times. Nacho Libre is also directed by Jared Hess, also co-written by him and his wife Jerusha. If you can't get through Napoleon Dynamite, then you probably won't be able to get through Nacho Libre. Jack Black is not very "Jack Black" in the film, but he has his moments where he comes back to himself. EDIT: About the only time where he breaks character, as I recall.
