Waldorf and Statler
Really? Robocop was good? I heard one thing about it that turned me off: "Taser Gun." The next few words were, "He fights mostly robots..." I guess I need to go into and forget that it's a remake. I don't have a stick up my ass and 90% of complaints are "they brought nothing new to the table, watch the original" But I thought it was interesting, was more than entertained and well worth 10 bucks. It depends on whether you're a Wally world who isn't very cynical and goes in with an open mind, or the above
Baconrath
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Anyone that says this movie isn't awesome is either stupid, or lying. It's hilarious from start to finish. And to top it all off, the end makes my eyes get a little...watery. I love that movie. Haven't seen the sequel, though... Waldorf and Statler
from what I hear the sequel isn't nearly as good. Which doesn't surprise me since apparently the director and writer went to do LEGO movie if I recall correctly.
Hot Heart
*writer/directors. Phil Lord and Chris Miller. They also did 21 Jump Street, another film that was surprisingly a lot better than I expected. Talented dudes.
Waldorf and Statler
Jesus really? Man they've made gold out of nothing three times then, I'll be sure to keep my eyes out for those names now. Are they doing 22 Jump Street? Because even if not, the recent trailer had me laughing like an idiot.
Hot Heart
Yep, indeed. I'd be cynical about 22 Jump Street if I didn't know the same guys were behind it.
staySICK
Thor the dark world. really good, loved some of the goofy sequences like Loki's shapeshifting, and almost every scene with Kat Dennings. "Darcy!" "Jane!" "Ian!" "Mjolnir!"
Waldorf and Statler
Wolf Children If you've ever watched anime movies such as Miyazaki/Ghibli ones (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Laputta Castle in the Sky, etc...) I highly recommend you give this a try. It's as heartfelt as a Disney movie and shows the struggle of a (human) widow trying to raise her werewolf children. The animation is amazing, the story is bittersweet, and the characters were great. While you're at it I can't recommend Jin-Roh the Wolf Brigade enough. Especially if you like Hellghast armor design. TCP
I'm totally late to the party on this one but I finally saw The Cabin in the Woods this past weekend. Dat unicorn!
Waldorf and Statler
Yeah that was the best part of the movie. I still laugh when it impales that one person all majestic like.
danielpholt
Gravity Second viewing for me; still retains much of what made it such an experience in the theatre. Looks and sounds incredible (curtains closed, lights off), Bullock and Clooney are great, Drama is still gripping and tense. I just wish I cared about the characters a little more. Same complaint as last time though, so I'm considering that a success. For me at least, Gravity holds up to a repeat viewing in your own home. deanb
The Incredibles babysat my younger siblings, was as good an excuse as any. Still a pretty damn good film. Just love Edna Mode. Love how stylized it all is. The CGI is noticeably dated compared to current techniques, but once again aesthetics wins out so not of it really matters. Perhaps Pixar's most under appreciated work to date. Fantastic soundtrack too.
Strangelove
Im waiting to see if W&S saw the 300 sequel. He saw the new Robocop, so I figured he'd watch this other homoerotic piece of originality too.

deanb
Frozen Watched it with housemates brothers over (including younger half-sibling who had seen it in cinemas). Very good, certainly lived up to the hype, though at the end we were comparing it with Tangled and felt Frozen's characters were a bit weaker, but were all also "yeah can't wholly remember Tangled's plot". Frozen definitely had a pretty cracking soundtrack too. Reason I bring up the younger brother is that either we've pretty dirty minds or the film has a pretty high amount of euphemisms in it. I think the collective favourite was "take me up the north mountain".

TheMightyEthan
No, I haven't seen it.
TheMightyEthan
Frozen. The first third or so was pretty weak, but it definitely picked up. Still didn't think it was as good as Tangled though.
danielpholt
Ratatouille - Another under appreciated PIXAR gem, and arguably one of my favourite animations of all time. Lovely little story, some of PIXAR's best animation to date and a gorgeous score. Mud - Tight little coming of age story. Takes a while to get going (when don't they), but after the initial 20 minutes, it kept me entertained right to the end. Some fantastic shots too. TCP
Anchorman 2. Stupid, stupid movie but I had 5 - 10 good laughs. Actually, it had a surprising amount of things to say about modern news.
Strangelove
Also saw Anchorman 2. Its about as good as the first one. These movies thrive on repeated viewings. Give 2 another year or 2 and people will say its just as good as the first. Anyways, I really enjoyed it, but I have to say Im kind of over famous actor cameos in comedies. That last part was kind of boring. I didnt mind Ford because he actually played a character, but the rest was too much. Dont get me wrong, walk on cameos used to be awesome(Adam Sandler's movies seemed to revolve around them honestly), but Im over it.
TheMightyEthan
How can a comedy with 5-10 good laughs be "good"?
Hot Heart
Sometimes, it's not so much about 'good laughs', which I take to mean BIG HEARTY GUFFAWS, as it is about being an entertaining watch. And you can appreciate the satire without needing big laughs.
TCP
5-10 good laughs is pretty good, isn't it? I can't think of too many movies in the past year with more than that. Maybe I'm just hard to please.
