deanb
D-FENS First time watching it. Pretty enjoyable. Weird when I looked it up n found it was a Joel Schumacher film. I only know him for trashing Batman.
Hot Heart
I assume you mean Falling Down. Great film.
deanb
Yeah, it was his number plate. It's not one I'd stick on to watch again casually, but I'd certainly spread the word on it.
Hot Heart
Yeah, it's not a casual sort of film. I think it's really interesting and has some great characters and acting though (although, I think it would've been better without the scene showing that home video with the rocking horse). CorgiShinobi
The Social Network was actually as good as people made it out to be. Most of the time I'm put off by highly acclaimed films. It's the reverse reaction because I'm use to being let down, to a small degree. I was worried it would be one-sided, but it really showed the dickery of each individual, like a true prologue to any business venture. I reminds me of Pirates of Silicon Valley, which is a great film on the rise of Apple and Microsoft.
NeoStarr
I finally got to see Rubber last night after the trailer thread hyped it up so much. Remarkable film, I think people are gonna be pretty surprised once they see it. The story is actually driven by the directors need to give the audience something to do (this is actually personified in the film), and so it becomes this whole big self parody that just sort of ridicules all aspects of film making and viewing. My buddy and I were in stitches the whole time. I'd recommend watching it with a friend; it's quite interactive. There were a bunch of times when we'd comment about the movie, only to have one of the characters in the film reassure what we said shortly thereafter. The self-awareness is just through the roof. Connorrrr
I took my younger brother to see Tangled the other night which was good... I've seen a lot of good films these last few weeks.

YES! This gives me high hopes. I showed the trailer to a friend the other day and we couldn't stop laughing the entire time. I can't wait to see it! Otherwise, I managed to watch all 10 Best Picture nominees before the Oscars. Sooooo many good films; Black Swan, The Social Network, The King's Speech, Winter's Bone, and 127 Hours definitely were my Top 5. All such fantastic cinema in their own right. The others were p great movies as well, just not as brilliant as the others.
Battra92
Between last night and this morning I watched two great films. The first was City Girl. This was F. W. Murnau's last silent film and last film he made in the US. The Blu-Ray was AMAZING! This is why I upgraded from DVD. Then today while I waited for my migraine meds to kick in I watched a Buster Keaton classic: Steamboat Bill Jr. This film was actually the inspiration for the legendary Mickey Mouse cartoon, Steamboat Willie. Mal
I finally gotten around to watch Howl's Moving Castle. Late, I know. I've listen to the soundtrack for a long time before this and man, the soundtrack sound so much better when you have watched the movie. I have to say that Sophie is one of the most interesting leads from the Ghibli's films I have seen.
CorgiShinobi
Oh, I guess I should have posted this sooner... I saw Tangled about a week ago at the local Dollar Theater, and I really liked it. Like, I've heard that it was good and I thought as much, but it was better than good. It was pretty great! *pre-order on Amazon*
deanb
Watched Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels the other day. I'd say it's more fun and less real I'd say than Snatch. But Snatch is much much more polished and refined. Also Lock Stock is much more british.
Hot Heart
Watched The Naked Gun the other night. Obviously not new, but still great. I had forgotten about the opening scene where Frank beats up a load of anti-American guys, including Colonel Gaddafi.
Mr W Phallus
Finally got round to watching American Beauty for the first time, it's definitely going up there as one of my favourite films of all time. There's still plenty of films left on the 'Oh my god, I can't believe you haven't seen that film' list though.

I have to say that Sophie is one of the most interesting leads from the Ghibli's films I have seen. My fiancee is walking down the aisle to that very theme on our wedding day. I watched the Disney classic, Pinocchio. I forgot just how dark that film gets at times, especially the scene where the donkeys are rounded up. I know the book takes it a step further but damn! I remember that scaring the crap out of me as a kid and it's still disturbing now. Good way to scare the little kids into doing good. Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
The Lincoln Lawyer. Though there is one severe plot hole, the majority of the movie is very enjoyable.
Mister Jack
I finally watched The Big Lebowski. I had seen parts of it before out of context, but I'd never gotten around to sitting down and watching the entire thing from beginning to end. deanb
Yeah someone on twitter mentioned Big Lebowski and I've never seen it before, so I'm in the mood. Think I'll watch it some point this week.
toxicitizen
Big Lebowski is brilliant, Dean I can't imagine how anyone could possibly not enjoy the hell out of it. Anyway, I recently got around to watching Tron: Legacy Didn't have huge expectations seeing as I had watched the original only a few years ago and found it kinda boring. But I actually enjoyed it a lot. I kinda regret not seeing it in theaters/3D. And now I can't stop listening to the movie's soundtrack. Daft Punk really did an awesome job scoring it. Hot Heart
The Big Lebowski is the greatest comedy film noir out there. You know, besides all those other comedy film noirs like Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid and...and...yeah.
Thursday Next
I have a total boner for Bridges. Lebowski, Trons, True Grit... awesomeness.
NeoStarr
Big Lebowski is probably the movie that makes me laugh the most every single time I watch it. The jokes are so clever they just don't seem to get old. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI89ovR36r0 This was really good. It's all done in first person perspective of this guy who dies and then his soul floats around and he watches what happens in the days after he dies and has flashbacks to other points in his life. It's not exactly the feel-good-movie of the summer; it's one of the more uncomfortable movies I've watched in recent memory, but it's damn good if you can stomach it.
