excel_excel Posted November 25, 2011 Report Share Posted November 25, 2011 Ok I'm going to say it. I've found most of the recent updates extremely lackluster. the NPC's still do nothing. The combat is still as poor as usual. wool regrowth on sheep still doesn't happen. There's an ending and a boss. Big whoop. Really disappointed with it. I stand firmly behind that concept. With that said, I found the ending to be really odd and out of place. deanb Posted November 26, 2011 Author Report Share Posted November 26, 2011 I was slightly miffed that "adventure mode" and "Survival mode" seem to have become the same thing, yet at their conception they were described as being two modes, much like Survival and Creative is at the moment. You used to be able to go exploring, digging crafting etc. But now you also need to go farming too since you don't just have health but hunger, which really impedes on the exploring element a bit. And if you don't want that then you go into Creative mode which wipes out everything else. And since so little is explained, having to use wikis, adding more and more mechanics is not a great idea. I got onto the forum server after not touching MC for months. Was down underground digging away when I started taking damage for no apparent reason. Turns out I was starving to death. As far as I know, you don't get food poisoning from raw food unless they added it in without me knowing... Also all if not all food stack now. So pack up and go on the road. What mods and texture packs do you guys use? I've recently been getting into texture packs. I checked out Jolicraft, and while it's really great to see a dedicated artist, I'm not that big a fan of it. However, I also downloaded Wayuki which I think is amazing! It doesn't change everything, so maybe that's why it isn't as popular. The mods though, which would be good for a simple user as myself? Personally i either use default Minecraft, Painterly or, Alternacraft. I haven't been able to get back into Minecraft since my save got deleted. The "ending" of the game was nothing special, and since I havent played in a couple months the potions and enchanting are a very odd addition to the game. So I'm pretty sure you can all be playing on the same server, unless something has changed since alpha. It's just really weird to see 3 or 4 of you running around. deanb Posted December 23, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 23, 2011 Optifine wasn't vast improvements, but at least the netbook fps can hit double digit FPS now. With phoebes slow and meticulous method of playing it hasn't really bothered her. Setting them both up just meant not putting the password into one of the accounts and going "Play Offline". Bryoni wouldn't let us use her laptop, so ended up with me n niomi, then phoebe n niomi playing. It's kept them quiet. I'll throw up a video later, just I'm on netbook and it's not exactly good at dealing with HD video from my camcorder Since Phoebe (4 yrs) was on my netbook I have access to the screenshots so here are some of her adventures. I taught her "T is for Talk", since it seemed unfair for just Niomi to be able to type. tbh I thought she knew at least a few words. Turns out not. This is her cow friend. Since Niomi had a dozen dogs phoebe decided she'd have a cow. This is actually first chronologically. She dug right down and ended up in a lava pit. "DEEEAAAANNNN!!! I'M ON FIIIIRRRRREEE!!!"
