TheMightyEthan
I am not ashamed to say it: that is too hardcore for me.
Vargras
Notch also jokingly tweeted a picture of an "Ultra Hardcore" mode that removed the Premium status from your Minecraft account upon death. The Hardcore mode is real, though.
RockyRan
Anyone get the "ran out of memory" error? I keep getting it every 2 minutes and it makes the game completely unplayable. I've tried some fix that allocates more RAM to Java but I'm still getting the crashes.
deanb
Just stick it to Normal view distance. I only have it come up when I'm on "Far". I've hit up Notch about it but no response. May see that GetSatisfaction has anything on it.
TheMightyEthan
I love that with Minecraft if you have issues you can freaking ask the head of the company and stand a decent chance of getting a response.
deanb
Not so much recently as the old days. Valve are fairly good.
Enervation
Mostly people post on reddit to voice their complaints (since he frequents it a lot). A huge flaw people are noticing about Mojang are their absolutely abysmal support services. Most people have to resort to posting on reddit to get any feedback at all; I think if Notch wants to take it a step further he should start with that. RockyRan
I love that with Minecraft if you have issues you can freaking ask the head of the company and stand a decent chance of getting a response. He's actually been pretty bad about responding to this kind of stuff recently
Vargras
I love that with Minecraft if you have issues you can freaking ask the head of the company and stand a decent chance of getting a response. He isn't actually the CEO - a man named Carl Manneh is. Notch just does programming.
Mal
El Notch is still king. And yeah, Mojang was never good on support service. Still isn't but if the day comes when they do... Mojang can have a beer on me.
deanb
One day I'm gonna have to have a shot with mods.
TheMightyEthan
Okay, I only watched the first minute and a half of that, but that is like the coolest thing I've ever seen.
Vargras
Okay, I only watched the first minute and a half of that, but that is like the coolest thing I've ever seen. The mod scene for Minecraft is ridiculous. So much of it is incredibly game-changing. A shame they all break with every patch, though - but the creators are usually pretty good about updates. Mal
I am amazed how much more optimized the code is. If you want to see how, go fill a ravine full of TNT and see if you can crash a server. You may get knocked out of the server but it won't crash. deanb
Just a minor heads up for Firefox users. There's an SSL exploit called BEAST going around and to combat it Mozilla are mulling over disabling Java from running in Firefox at all. Which one major Java based application you guys use is Minecraft.
excel_excel
I don't think Mozilla will go that far will they? Mal
Play this before proceeding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mq07l5KMkZY We should of acted... they are already here! The Scrolls told of their return... their defeat was merely a delay. But the time after Nether opened... when the sons of Minecraft spill their own blood. But no one wanted to believe. Believe that they can exist. But when the truth finally dawned. It dawned in FIRE. Edited October 7, 2011 by MaliciousH

deanb
What I don't get is why Bethesda are going after Mojang over Scrolls when they're currently making and selling a heavily moddable game where you traverse through mountains and marshes, crafting potions, fending off enemies with your bow, fleeing dragons and passing through scary otherworldly portals, chatting with NPCs and gaining XP as you do all this. And this game comes out 11.11.
