With Atomsk's status post, I am remembering the days of Creative where I played for a few months... then the day I bought Minecraft for Indev with no concept of that it will morph to Infdev then onto Alpha. What a ride.*

Also, it is great to see dragons finally making an appearance after teases of making them from over a year ago. I think I recall the first mention of them from Notch was back in Indev/Infdev. Now this:

*Doesn't mean I don't have this problem and that problem, like how out of place a dragon's movement looks like but it sure have been worth my money.

I'm surprised at how fluidly the dragon moves. As of now, the dragons are basically invincible to anything, but Notch has said he'll change that by adding dragons you can kill to the main world (they'll be red).

Notch is also changing the sun and moon to actually be round. In addition, there's gonna be lunar cycles too.

Creepers haven't been giving me trouble as of late...

EXCEPT FOR TONIGHT!

When I was exploring underground, before I left to go back "home," I realized I had passed two Gold Ore blocks. I travel back, collect them, and what do I see? A Creeper walking towards me. Yet, I wasn't afraid because I've killed these guys a dozen or so times. However, if they happen to get close, and dart to the left, I'm screwed.

I died and got everything back...

EXCEPT FOR MY LAPIS LAZULI!

Seriously, I was having a fantastic run and for the only thing to fall into some lava, it was something of actual value.

I think I might take a breather from the game. I was doing terribly last night and I really don't like losing my items. It's not just a simple retrace your steps process because sometimes your items can be destroyed.

Two times my items fell into lava or into a waterfall and then into lava. Actually, my last death my items probably fell into the lava below the cliff. :(

Just start storing items in chests and take the bare minimum with you when you go out mining or whatever.

Yeah, but when I find ores and other items before I can put them into a chest.

Is it a good idea to make a lot of chests while navigating? Like, not outside, but when underground and you're basically making your own path.

If you're tunnelling out a cave you plan to you a decent amount then yes a chest/workbench and forge are a good idea to prop up along your travels (means you get to return and find processed ingots, as well as easy to make pick-axes if you take plenty of wood with you. Less need to return so fast if you have at least 64 wood. That's a decent amount of torches, pick axes and chests.

I've already made a second home underground in the cave I was tunneling, but I guess I get frustrated when, during my travels, a frickin' skeleton pops out of the corner and gets the best of me.

Also, I've made a second bed which is now in the second home, but when I died it still sent me to my first bed. I even slept in the second bed, but I guess you can only have one bed be a spawn point. So I'll have to travel with one in hand?
