AcidCrownie
I will never forget the fun I had with my brother on Crazy Taxi and House of the Dead. Sadly, my Dreamcast died long ago. Edited December 12, 2010 by AcidCrownie
diedan
Mine is out and alive, but unfortunately not hooked up at the moment. I still need it ready and available for random Ikaruga sessions. That, and I need to finish Skies of Arcadia. WHY DID I NEVER FINISH THAT!? Geck0_k
Mine is dated Aug of 99(muahahaha!) and has 2 VMUs and a couple controllers. I loved this system, and frustrated the hell out of my friends in Unreal and Soul Calibur. Also, the Capcom Fighting Collection is god tier. Chronixal
I still have mine kicking around though it isn't currently hooked up, but that's only because I'm too lazy to take the TV off the wall to connect it. I never bothered with the internet connectivity back in the day but I it's library was excellent. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, ChuChu Rocket, etc. Never did play Shenmue though. diedan
Never did play Shenmue though. I have Shenmue, and I've never played it, really. Couldn't quite figure out what to do right away and probably never gave it a chance. Might have to try that again at some point.
Swordfyre
I must have spent hours burning games on CDs and I've only played my Dreamcast collectively for about maybe...10 hours at the most. Most of that was spent on Street Fighter 3 Alpha, which is god tier.
Chewblaha
MvC2, we salute you to this day from your DreamCast origination by calling people Goddless Fuckfaces over the various gaming networks.
c hoertjes
The Dreamcast should have never died the way it did. I love that little guy.
King Jimmeh
I really like my Dreamcast, but I don't have many games that make it worth setting up except for Sonic Adventure 1.
Chronixal
It's worth setting up to play it for it's excellent soundtrack. Of course you could just go on youtube, but you know what I mean.
King Jimmeh
I already have the OST saved And a fantastic one it is.
Commander Shepard
Rez. Great music-based rail shooter, or greatest music-based rail shooter? Amazing game on the Dreamcast, and every time it moved to a new console, it kept getting better. See:
Mudkip3DS
This thread just took a sharp turn towards New Vegas. Anyways, while I was never around for the Dreamcast (on the unfortunate chance of being too young), I have played MvC2 at the arcade with my friends during my childhood years (oh what fun), and Crazy Taxi was crazy awesome to play as well. Oh if only I could have been 3 years older!
topekaguy
Dreamcast, I only played you at Target and only then because you had a demo of Crazy Taxi. Anyways I thought your controller was fugly. RIP
Dev_Revenge
I've got two dreamcasts but very few real games unfortunately. I really need to round out my collection at some point. One of the cool DC things I've got is one of those 10 year Sonic anniversary coins that came with Sonic Adventure 2 I believe. The Dreamcast launched two fantastic sports franchises that outlived the console. NBA 2k still lives today (and dominates as EA didn't even release a basketball game this year) and NFL 2k would still be alive if EA hadn't panicked and grabbed NFL exclusivity (although I think 2k had a shot at the license too just couldn't afford it.) Crazy Taxi was one of my favorite games on the system, it just came out on XBLA. I'll probably grab it once it goes on sale. Another game that would be perfect for XBLA is Power Stone. MottZilla
The Dreamcast should have never died the way it did. I love that little guy. That's what happens though when you have a huge security hole and cheap CD burners and CD-Rs. Sega had other problems but definitely the fact that people left their 56K modems on all night downloading all the DreamCast games they could get their hands on didn't help matters. I liked the DreamCast and had it while it was still going. My favorite games were Marvel Vs Capcom (the first one) and Soul Calibur. I did like Crazy Taxi when I played it and there were other games that were fun. But looking back now I can't really say I have any interest in playing DreamCast. Soul Calibur is tempting but like many DC games it can be played elsewhere. Also I messed up my DC's lid switch by leaving things ontop of the console. I had no idea that over time it would mess it up.
balmut
Bought one recently for a friend for x-mas, he was well happy, should have seen his little face light up. "NO WAY!"
Bizzenya
The Dreamcast had a lot of great games on it. Shenmue Sonic Adventure Skies of Arcadia Crazy Taxi Jet Grind Radio PSO and many others... For me it was the last time Sega had games that were worth a damn. I was dumbfounded when I learned that the Dreamcast was going under. Its library was much more impressive than the PS2's for pretty much its entire lifespan. The only thing I didn't like about it were the crappy controllers.
SomTervo
Bought one recently for a friend for x-mas, he was well happy, should have seen his little face light up. "NO WAY!" That's great, I did that a year or two ago with a PS2, for a friend who would actually appreciate it if he had the chance. I love Dreamcast. I'm pretty sure the laser reader in my one is busted now, though =( I'm constantly wanting to replay Shenmue 1 & 2, and Jet Set Radio. JSR is still one of my favourite games of all time, for it's artistic direction as much as it's funs. Amazing stuff, one of the best soundtracks around too. Crazy Taxi was alright, but I felt super overrated.

Glad he enjoyed it. Hope he bought a large spool of CD-Rs. ;-)
balmut
Oh dont worry, he already had all the games. You see , really I owed him it, It is my belief that i killed his first dreamcast by playing Chrono Trigger via snes emu on it. For a whole night. None stop, I did soooo much of that game

Pojodin
Well, I guess you will just have to revive the topic. However, I'm not sure if you have enough MP...
Mr W Phallus
Didn't realise we had this topic. My friend inherited a DC last uni term and we sessioned Jet Set Radio to completion over a week or so despite random never-ending loading-screen crashes and the odd constantly-steering-left controller bug (solved by the magic fix-all of blowing into the controller port). Nipah
Purchased my DC at launch... I wanted in on the Soul Calibur/Marvel vs Capcom, and stayed around for the plethora of Capcom & Sega games that made that system a fun factory of awesome awesomeness. The disk drive started to get a bit wonky later in its life, giving me read errors every now and again, but I believe it still works... Also, VMUs were ahead of their time, like a lot of things Sega made.
