Little Pirate
I got to see if there are any fellow Harvest Moonies out there. This is a series that will continuously eat my money. It's like Pokemon, every game is pretty much the same with just a few obvious changes... but goddammit, you have to play each one.
RadiantViper
I've only played a few, but Rune Factory 2 is sooooo good. Definitely one of my favourite DS games. This series would eat my money if I had any
TheForgetfulBrain
I came on at Harvest Moon 64. That game was amazing. I loved it a ridiculous amount. Playing that game when it was raining, then having it rain in the game as well and deciding to stay in or go farming anyway was the ultimate cozy to me. I was really disappointed with the next game they released though, for PS2. You could only play it for one in-game year, and then had to start over again. Such a let-down after being able to go on practically forever. I haven't played any others since. Have there been any worth buying? I have a Wii, so technically that means I could get one of the Gamecube ones if I bought a GC controller somehow.
Little Pirate
They definitely have a lot for the DS, now. The PS2 was a cheap knock off. You're supposed to be able to run up to 20-50 years in game. Get married, have kids, farm a crap ton. Raise animals. That kinda thing. Rune Factory series takes on a little more of a fantasy RPG twist to it. Right now I'm back into 2. Radiant, any gal out of 2 you like in particular? I married Ceci at first, my second game I'm going for Dorothy.

The RF series adds some light dungeon crawling/RPG elements that keep things interesting. I also like the art style better. Radiant, any gal out of 2 you like in particular? Little Pirate
There was one for the Wii--from the trailers and gameplay I've seen on Youtube it looks amazing. I would probably get a Wii just for that game... I'm obsessed with the HM series.

I might have to give it a shot if I find it on sale one of these days.
Little Pirate
DOROTHY IS SO MOE~! You can't help but want to squeeze her. Cecilia the elf was from the previous game, so I just already had a soft spot for her. Yue is pretty cute, too. I had a hard time choosing between the three of them. diedan
I think I've only played the first game on the SNES...but I played the hell out of it! For some reason I just haven't picked up anything after that. Also, Rune Factory sounds really neat. I may have to check that out.

Baguette
I was currently playing Rune Factory 3 but stopped for a while due to having too much other games on hand. It's A LOT easier than 1 and 2 due to dying in the dungeons no longer gets you a game over and magic is incredibly strong in this game. Also, Summer is a total bitch with it's tornadoes and keeps wrecking my crops.
Yantelope
I played the original on the SNES and the GBA "Friends of Mineral Town" a lot as well. Both of them were a ton of fun for about 2 in-game years but then the grind finally got to me on both occasions and I stopped playing. I wish there was a way to automate the games a little more. I understand that the point is to "work" but it just wears on me after a while. I haven't tried any of the Wii ones yet.
MagicMagicPony
The DS one was kind of stupid... I got so tired of stylus-brushing the gd animals
Little Pirate
I got Sunshine Islands but my game will glitch and erase itself when I get into the fall season....
Baguette
I tried on of the DS Harvest moon that decided that moving should only be controlled by the stylus so I decided fuck that.
Mister Jack
I still got the SNES one, box and manual and all. I wish there was an iPhone port or version though. Farmville will NEVER frickin count.
Baguette
You could try Country Story, that's what my sis plays.

Baguette
It's like farmville.
Yantelope
I actually picked up Harvest Moon for the first time right when Farmville took off. I think it's a travesty that good games like Harvest Moon collect dust while garbage like Farmville rakes in the dough.
Mister Jack
Farmville sucks. Cheap Harvest Moon wannabe.

TheMightyEthan
They just announced a new one for Wii U, PC, iOS and Android. Quite the odd combination of platforms... http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-06-02-harvest-moon-seeds-of-memories-announced-for-wii-u-pc-and-mobile It's supposed to be based more heavily on the earlier entries, so I'm slightly interested. Though the mobile platforms scare me a bit.
