That seemed to be the ultimate irony of the game. It seemed like a lot of those short stories were very touching, so much so that they made the story of the actual game less interesting. I ended up wishing they had just made the game out of the short stories. I really liked Lost Odyssey but they main story's ending was just so bleh. The very first one, "Hanna's Departure," is one of the two largest offenders, however. I frankly find them kind of irritating since usually when these emotionally charged scenes pop up, I've just finished a 1-2 hour rush of blowing people's heads off. I actually can't recall which have done it off the top of my head though. The only one I remember was the FFVIII ending, when Squall encounters himself as a child. I'm such a sap.
