Pheermee
There have been plenty of moving/gut wrenching games I've played, but I don't remember ever crying.

deanb
Yeah I can't really think of any that have made me cry. And since it'd be such an infrequent thing to happen I'm sure I'd remember it. Actually there's not many films recently that I've had a weep at. Bucket List was the last one. TheMightyEthan
I didn't like actually cry cry at Shadow of the Colossus either, but I did tear up. Last movie that did it was Up I think.

Shadowstep
I struggle to come up with a list of games that made me cry. I can name games that have made me sad, though. World of Warcraft: The Coldarra questline in Borean Tundra. It ends with your companion getting kidnapped and raped, and then you have to go in and put her out of her misery. Makes me sad everytime The Nexus came up as the random. In Hillsbrad Foothills (post-Shattering), Orkus' questline. It's like, wow. I know people like this guy. Halo: Reach: When Jorge dies. Why did the only likeable Spartan have to die first? I can't think of any other games in recent memory.
Hot Heart
Never cried at a game. Although, I'm remembering being a bit sad at that FFVII bit. Totally teared up during Toy Story 3 though.
TheMightyEthan
Oh yeah, Toy Story 3 is my most recent, not Up.
HotChops
I've never bawled my eyes out over a game, but then I don't cry very often in general. I did tear up a bit during two games this year though. Note that these experiences struck a personal cord with me. I don't necessarily think they're intended to touch everyone in that way. The first was when I played Tali's loyalty mission in Mass Effect 2. I felt so sorry for Tali. She's had such a difficult life. When we finally reached the body of Tali's father, her reaction really killed me. She had endured the challenges of ME1, then she was accused of treason, and now she was mourning the death of her father. The second incident occurred when I played the ending of Red Dead Redemption. Now this really made me hurt. Those who have completed previous Rockstar games could tell that something ominous was brewing. I was so pleased to see John Marston return to his family after all that he had been through, but I knew Rockstar wasn't going to give us a happy ending. I desperately wanted Marston and his family to live. Then when he leaves the barn and enters dead eye mode, I felt a brief glimmer of hope... before he was gunned down. I felt so helpless. Again, this is something that I've struggled with in my own life. I've spent the last decade being helpless to prevent bad things from happening. Ultimately though, I think that's just life for most of us. That's also why I think Red Dead Redemption is GOTY; because it captures the gritty and unfair nature of the world. TheForgetfulBrain
Oh yeah, Toy Story 3 is my most recent, not Up. I teared up at Toy Story 3, but I was bawling at Up... like right after the movie started. Then again, I was also about a half a bottle of wine deep. TheMightyEthan
Anyone who didn't cry, or at least tear up a little, at the opening to Up has no soul.
Zenia-chan
Now that you mention it... World of Warcraft The part with the Highborne Lamentors. The song they sing when you give Lady Sylvanas that locket thingy from the Ghostlands...not sure if I actually cried at this or not, but it's pretty sad. Also the Death Knight starting area quest where you have to kill a prisoner of your own race, who appears to have been familiar with you back when you were alive, but then they start crying because you were ordered to kill them...and you can't disobey the Lich King. For some reason this part just made me real sad. Also I think I got a bit misty-eyed at a few parts while watching Tales of the Abyss (the anime...I know, I still need to get the game.) Some of the things that happen are absolutely heartbreaking...but the story is so good! I loves it... ;_;
Yantelope
Anyone who didn't cry, or at least tear up a little, at the opening to Up has no soul. I cried pretty hard but then again we had just gone through a miscarriage so it hit my wife and I pretty hard. We have a darling little girl now though. Gyaruson
I can't think of a game that has made me cry, or even come close. I think Metal Gear Solid 4 was the closest when you go back to Shadow Moses and you can crawl in that cave and hear "The Best Is Yet To Come". That was pretty awesome, but not tear-inducing. I cry at every Pixar movie, but not shed actual tears. My eyes get all misty though.

Little Pirate
When Aeris died. Not because she was killed... because the bitch ran off when I spent a good eight hours grinding her for her llimit breaks. And then when she finally decides to show her face, she gets herself killed. I was so mad--I assumed I wasn't getting all that high leveled materia back from her. So they were more tears of rage. I also had to replace that controller.

I also had to replace that controller. This semi-happened to me on Suikoden IV (excellent game, ruined by horrifying voice acting). One of the main characters had this special artifact equipped that let you avoid the way-too-constant random battles, which I was totally going to use for the new game+, but then she got captured or something and I guess you didn't see her again/couldn't get anything you had equipped on her back, so I got frustrated and never finished the game. TheMightyEthan
Similar thing happened to me in Tales of Destiny. There's a ring that you can put on any of the companions, which lets the 2nd controller control that companion in battle. So my friend and I were having an awesome time playing through the game together. Then the jerk up and turns evil and leaves the party, taking my motherfucking ring with him. I didn't play the game for like 2 years after that.
