Battra92
Favorite Books? Sure! 1.) The Bible (the King James translation is my favorite as it is much more poetic) 2.) The Railway Series by Rev. Wilbur Awdry (and the Christopher Awdry ones as well) 3.) All four Pooh books by A. A. Milne 4.) The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Prof Challenger >> Sherlock Holmes) 5.) The Wind in the Willows - Kenneth Graham Funny that four out of 5 are English in origin and the first is an English translation. I'm not saying that Americans can't write great books (far from it; they wrote some fantastic books) but my favorites are British.
Showmeyomoves!
3. 1984 by George Orwell 1984 - George Orwell -1984 This. Rendezvous With Rama by Arthur C. Clarke Yeah! I'm about to get started on Rama II, actually. I'll also add 2001: A Space Odyssey and 2010: Odyssey Two. I recommend it to people even if they didn't like the movie. Farenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury I read this, but it was too pretentious for my taste. Not so much the subject matter, but the way in which it was written. The interview with the author in the back didn't exactly help either. Apparently he believes his book is more relevant than Nineteen Eighty-Four... Edited January 10, 2011 by Showmeyomoves!
