Hot Heart
Was there ever a beta? Because I found it a bit funny that people over at LiveJournal were all 'Let's get a clan, check out these abilities, pick a role. GOOOOO!' Obviously, I appreciate people showing some enthusiasm but it's amusing if the game turns out to be rubbish. ...OK, I admit it, it's schadenfreude Edited May 12, 2011 by Hot Heart
HotChops
didn't buy it; not interested in it. But I thought I'd post this: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/05/11/brink-patched-lag-under-investigation.aspx
Baconrath
It's like they programmed the enemy bots with the cheapest CTF tactics known to man.
TheMightyEthan
lol, I wouldn't say "guarding the flag" is "cheap" so much as it is "the objective".

But I thought I'd post this: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/05/11/brink-patched-lag-under-investigation.aspx They got a patch to Playstation players without PSN. Hmm. I wonder how they did that? As for the bots... it's doable. It always is. The bot difficulty scales with both your level and the difficulty setting of the match. At my current level, everyone NEEDS to know what they're doing to survive, otherwise the bots will just laugh as they gun you down.

All games have been patching fine without PSN. PSN is just used for trophies/PS Store/messaging. Don't need someone to login to know what game they have and if it's outdated. Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Some clown tried to justify the problems with the console versions by saying "It's PC's time to shine" and "Serves you right for relying on 6 year old hardware!" Yeah, serves us right for buying a $60 game and expecting the fucking thing to work on the platform it was designed for.
Enervation
Fanboys ruin the fun for all of us. I can honestly say that after the most recent patch, it runs WORSE now than it did before. On the Security Tower mission, I usually get only minute lag at the gate. Now, there's really bad lag - I think it dropped somewhere down to 15-20 fps. Woo, go PC gaming master race. Gyaruson
I haven't played it since launch day. I honestly haven't mustered up the courage just to pop it back in and give it another go. I fear that if I do give it a second chance, it will only frustrate me more, and then I'll trade it in. Stuck between a rock and a shitty game place, so to speak. excaliburps
Just bought Brink...and for the PS3 no less. Yep. I live dangerously. Now if only I can magically make time to actually try it out.
jayc4life
I remember playing this at Eurogamer Expo (and queueing nearly 2 fucking hours to do so) and it worked great as a LAN multiplayer. I was pretty stoked for it after giving it a go. After hearing how bad the lag is now, on top of the lacklustre bot AI on singleplayer, Bethesda'll be lucky if I ever buy it, bargain bin, second-hand or otherwise. Oh god it's getting quite the universal panning.
Saturnine Tenshi
After giving the game more time, I've found it's actually above tolerable. It needed to work its sedating claws into my brain and touch all the right places. Well, some places are proper, others are not. Not at all proper. Naughty, even. It is, by no means, a great game. But it's a decent romp, and I expected a decent romp. Playing on the RPS server, I ended up with a good team that worked well together — SYNERGY — and it just escalated from there. (I'm playing on PC, by the way.) Edited May 15, 2011 by Saturnine Tenshi
CorgiShinobi
This might double for the "PC gaming vs. Console gaming" as well, but probably more for a "random PC douchebags make PC gaming confusing and hard" kinda angle.
Enervation
If there's anything being on the internet has taught me, it's to STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THE OFFICIAL FORUMS. Fuck. If I didn't know better I would swear Gabe was doing that on purpose. Also: Assuming you have rudimentary knowledge of C++ you can just take I have a feeling people don't understand that basic knowledge of C++ does nothing with professionally programmed drivers, 'cause the only thing you'll succeed in is shooting yourself in the foot! Hot Heart
I like that there's a 'No problems here', although I usually see a 'Works fine for me'; and my friends and I would put that under pet peeves.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, if you're gonna say "works fine for me" you need to throw in a "let's try and figure out what's different about our systems, here are my tech specs"
deanb
I have a guy on Twitter who has a Steam key for this and looking for someone who will give it a good home. As in someone who wants brink but can't/won't afford it, not just someone who'll go "ooh shiny free game" play for 10 minutes n leave it at that. PM me if interested and I'll see about hooking you up.
Thursday Next
I actually don't even want it for free. My interest was piqued, and then the game came out and my interest troughed.

Pirandello
Splash Damage said they were going to roll out a patch next week that fixes a number of gameplay and performance issues with the game next week. Looking forward to it. Playing a match without sound makes you feel like you're deaf.
