Enervation
Here's hoping for that patch, heh. Hopefully the patch doesn't take the "two steps forward, one step back" approach by fixing some things and breaking others.

I don't get it. Unless this is talking about the console versions and not the PC version.

deanb
"For the lulz" same as they always have done. Anon used to hit some high profile guys, but even they were like "actually let's not attack PSN, it's dicking the users not the company" but Lulzsec are definitely aiming at the gamers with this one. FredEffinChopin
Not that I'm expecting a lot of people to still care... http://www.pressxord...eview-brink-pc/ Wow, that's honestly one of the best reviews I've read in at least a few months. No stone left un-turned there, and all very well articulated. I'd say that's very useful to a curious party considering a purchase. As far as what I hunted this thread down to say: Despite its many shortcomings, I'm helplessly drawn to this game. I plowed through it solo quickly, and was terribly let down to find out that nobody was playing online when I was done. I mean nobody. I don't think I've seen that kind of online community since I tried to play some Chessmaster online on the PS2. This is actually worse. In Chessmater I think I encountered a total of 2 opponents in my couple of weeks of peeking in and looking for opponents. There isn't a sign of life in Brink, not one. I guess what I'm getting at here is if anyone actually plays this on PS3 and would like to team up, please send an invite. I got one dude from a trophy-boosting thread on my friend list, but I wouldn't mind a second or third, as conflicting schedules may well see to it that that guy and I never play again. I am trophy whorish at times, but I'm seriously just looking for some games here. I'm usually a late-night gamer, though I can be found at other times as well. EST. Enervation
The Agents of Change DLC is apparently bouncing on and off of the Steam Store. My friend is playing it but I can't even access it in the store.

My friend is playing it but I can't even access it in the store. Make sure when you do see it, goto the store page, and hit install, this links it to your account so you own it. You won't get it without going to the page and hitting install, so make sure to stop by it within the remaining 13 days.

It's up permanently now, and I've already tried the DLC. The new outfits are actually pretty good. Both the Limey and Sad Punk jackets add a sort of medium-level armor to your character which is quite a refreshing thing for Resistance, since it was either all clothing/junk armor or the Fortress (which was the only Resistance armor with a sort of "padding" similar to kevlar vests). The new maps are very good as well. As a lot of people say, the two new maps are far more optimized for SMART than any of the original maps, which is actually quite a refresher. The new weapon attachments I'm kind of mixed on.
toxicitizen
Hmm, free week-end and 50% off on Steam so soon after release? Damn, sales must be absolutely terrible. Edited August 4, 2011 by FLD
deanb
It's like £13 for it on PS3 in Gamestation.

Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Well, that free weekend sure was useful. I see that it's still garbage, and I do not regret my decision to trade it back in day one.
Pirandello
You know, when I saw the first reveal trailer for Brink, I actually thought that it was a single-player FPS/RPG hybrid from Bethesda. The Ark is large, and there are lots of places to explore and people to interact with. The audio logs also have a great deal of backstory to them. I wonder if it would have been better off that way. Given, what it is now isn't all that bad (not all that great, either), but the setting just seemed so primed for a singleplayer game. Enervation
Would've been interesting if it turned out like that, though. FPS/RPG seems to be something Bethesda likes to push out.
Saturnine Tenshi
Brink just pisses me off. I was in the process of redownloading the game when I remembered why I deleted it. Friggin' half-wits who don't work together at all dominate most servers. Once or twice, I've had a good team. If you're on the opposing side of a team that works together, you just get rolled. Saturnine Tenshi
Good point. Well, partially. If I'm playing an "arcade" manshoot like Bad Company, it's usually on hardcore. So I can manage the objectives on my own. That and I don't like shooting someone twenty times and them not dying. Anyhow, Brink takes a bit more teamwork to accomplish the objectives than what I'm used to. Though I've certainly ragequit other games for the same reason. Also, I tend to play on the Over 30 Club or affiliated servers. There isn't one for Brink. And I didn't really take the time to search for a more mature atmosphere.
