Geck0_k
This thread is for discussion of Steam and its' glorious sales and events. Currently, Steam is having a Treasure Hunt with great discounts for games associated with said hunt. Check http://store.steampo...om/treasurehunt for details. Also, the Epic and broke-gamer making holiday sale is on the way. Anything you'd like to see slashed down in price or games you're simply planning on picking up regardless? Geck0_k
Youch, hopefully the Steam support dept will help you out in an expedient fashion ;D
AusKossy
Steam Support is pretty awesome. I had a problem with buying games during the sale a few weeks back, and I got an answer in about 20 minutes from them with a fix. Not bad at all. I've picked up Chime, Poker Night, and Mafia II so far from this Treasure Hunt. Chime and Mafia are two great games, and I've got the objective shit for both, but Poker Night was hell boring. Took me about 3 hours to get the Heavy's weapon, will never ever touch that game again. The chat around the table gets boring when you hear it for the third time... The first TF2 hat is an ugly lil' fucker too.
Cyber Rat
I've picked up Chime and had all the other "dirt cheap" games that were on sale already. I'm waiting for Super Meat Boy to be on sale either during the Treasure Hunt or the Xmas sale.

Ethan has had major issue with them the past week. Whereas I know some people who've even had games refunded, despite their policy of no refunds. Chronixal
Thus far the only deal I've taken advantage of was the deal on The Orange Box for something like £9.99. Unfortunately, my laptop is so underpowered it can barely run it as a decent rate. So as much as I'd like to pick up more for my PC, until I get a new one it'd be a bit redundant. mergedwarrior
AAAAAaaaaAaAaa Chime Shatter Just Cause 2 I want BFBC2 for 10.
toxicitizen
So far I've only grabbed some of the very cheap titles in the current sale. AaaAAaaaA, Chime and Shatter Keeping most of my funds for the holiday sale in hopes of picking up some big titles I missed over the year. The biggest items on my shopping list would be: -Just Cause 2 -Fallout 3 GOTY (finished the original game 2 years ago but havent played any of the DLC yet) -Splinter Cell Conviction -Borderlands DLC I grabbed such an insane amount of stuff last year that this year can't possibly compare. TheForgetfulBrain
I think Chime is actually the only one I've bought so far, but I could be wrong. It's kind of great having something to cross your fingers for every two days, even if I haven't been swept away by any of the deals/objectives yet. Cyber Rat
Got Amnesia during the weekend sale. Now I just need to get Super Meat Boy when it's on sale and I'm set.
AcidCrownie
Today the chest said to give someone a gift. I'm willing to take one for the team and let ya'll gift stuff to me. I will do the same. EDIT: It is retro-active, so if you've ever gifted something, you've filled the goal.
deanb
Yeah I've filled it a dozen times over.

STiger
Monday Night Combat on Steam, 10% off prepurchase. http://store.steampowered.com/app/63200/
Sindo
Not cheap enough for a prepurchase.
toxicitizen
Since when do prepurchases need to be cheaper than the actual price of the game ? How is 10% off + early beta access not better than full-price once it comes out?
Sindo
I meant not cheap enough for a pre-purchase from me. Also didn't know it had early access.
TheMightyEthan
I'm debating getting MNC on PC even though I just got it on 360 like 2 weeks ago.
toxicitizen
New set of objectives for the treasure hunt includes one for Just Cause 2, which just happens to be 75% off. That's one thing off my holiday shopping list.
Mister Jack
For god's sake, PLEASE give us a Civ 5 discount. I promise I'll buy it then. Honest.
toxicitizen
I would imagine it (Civ V) will be on sale during the proper holiday sale (which is believed to begin on the 20th), but I wouldn't expect anything more than 25% off, to be honest, since it's still pretty new. I still can't believe I actually got it for free on D2D B)
Mister Jack
You know what, 25% off is still pretty goddamn good.
TheForgetfulBrain
I just picked up Just Cause 2 (it was cheap enough) and Beat Hazard. Beat Hazard is damn fun, though my WASD fingers got pretty cramped up after an hour or so.
toxicitizen
You know what, 25% off is still pretty goddamn good. Well then you just missed a good chance then. Last week ( or week-end, not really sure anymore ) there was an event on Direct2Drive where you could get 20% off anything by using the promo code HOHOHO. Now it's over though. I don't normally use D2D as I prefer to have all my games on Steam, but sometimes it can be pretty sweet to get good deals on games that you have to register on Steam anyway. When I pre-ordered Black Ops they offered a pre-load, but for Civ V they don't even provide data to download. When I click to "download" the game it just brings up a page with a cd-key and instructions on how to register it on Steam. I just picked up Just Cause 2 (it was cheap enough) and Beat Hazard. Beat Hazard is damn fun, though my WASD fingers got pretty cramped up after an hour or so. Picked up JC2 as well! It's done downloading now, can't wait to try it later! I've been wanting to play it for a while now.
