AgamemnonV2
Ok now this is an interesting little deal, we have http://store.steampowered.com/sale/rockstarweekend which is Grand Theft Auto 1, 2, 3, Vice City and San Andreas all together for €7.50. Just got Vice city and San Andreas separately for €5 together That's a little misleading, considering GTA I and II are free (and you can get them for free already off of Steam). III is old-ass news whereas Vice City is the only real gem in that pack. Which, in that case, you can just get it cheaper on its sale pricing (which was about $3.99). That sale is over with though and now they're having a sale on the complete GTAIV pack. Ahh, if only that game didn't suck on the PC... deanb
Right, honestly how bad is GTAIV on PC? Does it work with a pad? Just I can get the whole bundle cheaper than if I get Episodes of Liberty City on PS3. (unless someone can point me to a £6 copy) Also I've seen a few cool mods n such for it that look fun to piss about in.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, you can play GTA IV on PC with a pad. @Agamemnon: You can't get GTA or GTA2 on Steam individually, you can only get them as part of the package. So even though they're "free" in the package, you still have to buy the package to get them.
deanb
You can just get them free on Rockstars website.... They were my first Friday Freeloader http://pressxordie.com/2010/07/16/friday-freeloader-gta/
toxicitizen
Right, honestly how bad is GTAIV on PC? Frankly, I never had any problem with it. It didn't always run 100% smoothly, but it was never unplayable. I used mouse and keyboard, though. And that's the reason I never finished it. The helicopters are just fucking impossible to control with a mouse and keyboard, and the last mission requires that you pilot one.

AgamemnonV2
Right, honestly how bad is GTAIV on PC? It's bad. Just trying to start the game is a feat in its own. The game requires you to join Rockstar Social Club with a working account just to launch the game and then you need Windows LIVE just so the game doesn't crash (it's the game's DRM). You'll need the LIVE account also to save your game. Failure to adhere to those instructions will result in your game crashing after loading. Don't bother with support--they'll tell you it's your fault, to uninstall and reinstall the game, then Steam, then your computer, then buy a new car, etc. Anything to keep you from getting wise that it's not actually your fault. Optimization is garbage. San Andreas makes me want to punch the guy who designed the flying missions in the neck. Luckily there's only two serious flying missions in this game and neither involve planes (although the last mission wonderfully deals with a helicopter). If you have a gamepad I would suggest to substitute the kb+m. Further shitty optimization deals with graphical optimization. I have a rig that takes a dump on GTAIV's recommended listing and it still drops to 20 to 25 frames when it starts to rain in the city. As for the rest of the game, I wrote up a review: http://agdom.wordpress.com/2010/09/24/beeg-amerikan-tee-tees/ I don't recommend it--not even to fans of the series. GTAIV is completely unlike its predecessors. It tries to take itself way too seriously. Also I've seen a few cool mods n such for it that look fun to piss about in. Not really. There's a popular "trainer" that everyone and their mother uses (including me) which allows you to dick around in the game, but no actual mods. A few people have tried their hand at monumental projects like a zombie mod or an apocalypse mod but those have been abandoned. The game does not have a healthy mod community. It's left in the dust. Rockstar does not (and never has) care about the game any longer. ...*sniff* I didn't try to mislead....but I didn't know 1 & 2 were free awesome I didn't mean you were misleading but Steam was, like as if they were saying, "Hey, you can get these five games really cheap!" when only three of them are still commercially sold. deanb
I should maybe point out I have GTAIV on PS3 (It actually came with my PS3) and played it on that. Just not played the expansions. So primarily the expansions I'm interested in. Buying the complete bundle on Steam works out cheaper than it does to get the expansions on PS3. tbh I'm not sure how much I'd play it what with other games. I guess I'll pass n one day find the expansions in a bargain bin for like £3.

Yeah I know you didn't mean me about the GTA IV collection, I have IV on 360 and never really got into it...hearing about the crap optimization and DRM means even at that cheap of a price I ain't going near it

I haven't played the "stories" either but from what I've heard they add little to the game as far as gameplay goes (some new vehicles and weapons). I like to fire up GTAIV every now and then just to use the trainer to cause havoc but I don't think I could stomach the story of some other expansion before I could finally have fun. Pirandello
Prince of Persia complete pack on sale for $15!
Mal
I never played a Sand of Persia game since I had to spend wisely on my games back in the day. Maybe its time to fix it... but man, instant massive backlog.

P4: Gritty Reboot
Have you tried the free one? It's awesome. At least give it a try and then pick up the paid one if you like it.
Johnny
Indeed, I would even claim the free trackset to be the best... But the other sets in United are well worth paying for.
Yantelope
Is the core game the same?
Johnny
Trackmania United consists of a ton of different tracksets that all feature different graphics, car handling and track pieces. Nations is my favourite and is the one featured in the free version. Everything from the free version is in United. United players can play on and host free version servers. Hocking
The sale seems to have broken the search feature as well as the listings for publisher catalogues.

Hot Heart
I'd be tempted to get Borderlands if there were people to play with. Finished it on PS3 but rarely got to play with my friends and I never got any further with my Hunter character who was pretty bitchin' (was levelling a Soldier for solo and Hunter for multi). Also... Purchase Borderlands GOTY and join the Duke Nukem Forever: First Access Club OHMANOHMANOHMAN!
