TheMightyEthan
So, even though it's still a couple days before Christmas, I thought I'd start this thread for what you've received. This isn't just for Christmas though, in an effort to be less culture-centric this is for any gifts you've received during the "holiday season", regardless of the specific event/holiday they are celebrating. I'll start: Thanks for increasing my backlog Dean! Jerk.
deanb
Well up to now I've gotten deus ex off ethan and deathspank off staysick
Showmeyomoves!
I'm a Jehovah's Witness, I DON'T CELEBRATE HOLIDAYS.
iLjaG
From my lover Heartless: Thanks baby bro.
Little Pirate
My sister really loves Bioshock, so.... I can't wait to see her open this.
TheMightyEthan
Pirate, this is about gifts you've received. Though it might not be a bad idea to make a giving thread too.
Showmeyomoves!
Can't we just keep it in one thread? Presents are presents, and I'm already losing track of all these threads as it is. :/
TheMightyEthan
Well honestly, stuff you're giving to other people could just go in the post your purchases thread, since you purchased it...
Showmeyomoves!
I guess you're right... Too many threads!
Bouchart
So far I've had coworkers give me chocolate and candy. As for Christmas, I don't have anything in particular that I want.
Little Pirate
I GUESS GETTING IS BETTER THAN GIVING. >:T But yeah, when I actually get to open my presents I'll post what I got. I only got cards from co-workers so far and a lottery ticket. I did not win.
Mister Jack
What kind of asshole gives lottery tickets as christmas gifts?
Bouchart
What kind of asshole gives lottery tickets as christmas gifts? I got a couple of scratch off lottery tickets from a coworker a few years back. Won $20.
deanb
National lottery have being pushing that idea a lot this year. And lotto lands with xmas this year. So my mum lifted the I'dea from the advert and put a ticket in our crackers. On the condition we 'get her out of this shithole' should we win. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I could see giving a lottery ticket to an acquaintance, or as a little throw-away addition to a real gift.
Mister Jack
I wouldn't mind a ticket as a stocking stuffer or something, but if this is somebody I know fairly well, they'd better not go pulling that crap with me. I'll graciously accept a bad gift, but I won't graciously accept a thoughtless gift.
TheMightyEthan
That's why I said I could see giving it to an acquaintance or something.
Heartless
My co-worker got me this... So I'm re-watching the original anime series as a warm-up, then moving over to this. Gonna be a pretty alchemic Christmas. Sent from a guy who could've done better with that last line.
Gyaruson
Wow, you people actually exchange gifts with people within the forums? I R shocked. The only thing I've gotten so far is a 50 dollar gift card from my work, so that was nice. My parent's Christmas is tomorrow (Christmas Eve) so I should get some stuff then, plus I have my Christmas with my wife and her family's Christmas the next day. Will update. Little Pirate
They were from my co-workers Jack. It's kind of a nice thing, really. While my job is stressful, it helps that everyone gets along with each other.
Mister Jack
I actually have a few co-workers I don't like in my department, so as you can imagine that just makes it worse.
Little Pirate
Well I like you. So they can stuff it.
Bouchart
I actually have a few co-workers I don't like in my department, so as you can imagine that just makes it worse. You just reminded me of another thing. A coworker gave me a bottle of champagne for Christmas. Since I don't drink alcohol, I had the option of throwing it out or giving it to a coworker that loves to drink. Since I didn't like that guy I just threw it out. Mister Jack
Actually I kinda wish they'd have it out with me because I can handle myself, but instead it's this phony smile Pollyanna passive-aggressive bullshit that everybody else seems to fall for, so if I am the one to start something then I'm the asshole. Basically, my coworkers and I didn't exchange gifts.
