FredEffinChopin
The Sharpshooter is on sale for $19.99 at the moment on Amazon, in case anyone is interested. I don't know how long it'll be on sale for, I just happened to notice the price on the side when I was looking at the GOTY (or whatever they call it) edition of RE5. I just noticed Infamous 2 in a list earlier, I was surprised I hadn't heard about it. I'll need to do some reading.
TheMightyEthan
Just got a Move Friday, and so far my experience with it has been pretty terrible. Didn't play it much over the weekend, but I did play some LBP2 (the game it came with) and thought it added nothing to the experience. I would have been better off playing with a regular controller. Also tried the Tiger Woods 12 and Topspin 4 demos that came on the demo disc and had really bad experiences (granted they're 3rd party, but they are on the demo disc). Tiger Woods was bad because nothing I did had any affect on the game: no matter how I swung every shot was perfect, including the put that I accidentally made while I was playing with turning the move to aim. Didn't even swing, just turned the Move, the game decided I'd swung, and it sank perfectly. Topspin was terrible because it was unresponsive but in a different way: it only recognized a forward swing, even when my character on the screen would have been backhanding (if I backhanded it just wouldn't do anything at all) and about 1/5 of the time even if I swung forward it wouldn't register it. Getting ready to try Sports Champions and see how that goes.
TheMightyEthan
Move Champions is MUCH better. Only has table tennis and disc golf in the demo, when what I really wanted to try was archery, but it shows real promise. I actually had legitimate fun playing table tennis. Strangelove
Ive never played those games, but Sports Champion plays amazingly well with Move. its pretty much THE move game. Its basically a better Wii Sports. As far as other games, Killzone 3 and RE5 are great with Move. Way better than with a controller. Other than that Resistance 3 is also supposed to be really good with it. I havent tried it yet. or Heavy Rain. Infamous 2 also uses Move, but by the time I tried it, I had gotten my platinum with the controller, so i preffered the controller.

The actual game is dirt cheap. The archery and the sword and shield game are really good. Im sure you can get the game under ten bucks online or in a clearance bin somewhere. fuchikoma
Yeah, Sports Champions is great. Just be ready for American characters to be nigh-unbeatable at higher levels, especially in Gladiator. There was a guy whose shield was literally directly mapped to my sword movements so the only way to hit him was to wait for him to swing then counter. Then there was a woman whose mace(? It's been a while...) could basically stun you instantly and kill you in a couple hits. But it's GREAT until then!
Yantelope V2
So I got the doomsday bundle with the sharpshooter and everything. I confess I didn't bother to play Resistance 3 with it. I probably should have. I've played Killzone 3 with it a bit and so far it's good and bad. I love it for the shooting aspect. It feels very good aiming at people and shooting them in the head. I hate it for sitting down, it's a bit uncomfortable playing it sitting on the couch. The peripheral itself is very well thought out and it's very fun to reload and aim and shoot with it. The biggest problem is aiming adds one more axis of motion to the game. Now you have move, look and aim or really 3 axises of motion. They basically cheat by combining the aim and look into one where if you aim too far it looks which kind of works but actually is a little frustrating at times. In short, I almost think there needs to be two thumb sticks still in addition to this but since I don't have 4 arms it's good but not great. Sadly, I still don't see a way around the dual thumbstick proposition for FPS right now. For just hiding behind cover and shooting it's awesome though. Mister Jack
Killzone 3 works pretty well, but you have to adjust the deadzone quite a bit if you haven't already. Don't use the default settings.
TheMightyEthan
So would you guys recommend getting the Sharp Shooter? I'm gonna see how I like Killzone 2 first before getting Killzone 3, but it just seems so expensive.
Mister Jack
It takes some getting used to, but once you adjust to it then it does make shooting games pretty fun. Your brain kinda has to get used to having the nav controller in the gun itself, though. I know I had to teach myself how to turn the gun, and thus the navigation controller, in one direction while pushing the actual analog stick in an entirely different direction. It's trickier than it sounds when you're first starting out. That's about the biggest hurdle I experienced, though, and it was temporary. I should note that Move accessories, particularly the sharpshooter, often go on sale. I got mine for 20 bucks.
Yantelope V2
I mean, I wouldn't go so far as to say it makes the game better. As a serious FPS fan it makes it slightly harder to control in ways and that bugs me a little. It does make it different and in some ways better. As an experience it might be better. I honestly need to give it a little more time. Also I tried Tiger Woods on the move briefly. I was impressed by the aiming and frustrated by trying to hit shots softly. I need to practice it a bit more. Pretty cool though. Way better than Wii Golf.
FredEffinChopin
What Jack said. It's difficult to gauge how one might take to FPSs with the Sharpshooter, so I would (and did) wait for that sale to come along. Personally, I didn't play KZ3 with it for too long before I dropped the thing like a hot potato and threw holy water on it. Yantelope touched on much of the difficulty of it in his description. Maybe not difficult for some, but it tied me in knots. When I told my friend about it though (who champions the Sharpshooter), he actually suggested I tried it again, only sitting down. It sounded strange to me at first, but he told me that by resting the bottom of it on my leg I'd alleviate a lot of the trouble I was having with keeping steady while guiding myself on foot. I do plan on giving it another shot, as I've heard it can be a rewarding experience for one who can adjust to it. The Sharpshooter itself really well built though. I'm so fond of it that I'm still happy with my purchase despite not having had a minute of fun with it yet. I'm hoping I can make it happen eventually. In general I'm kind of let down by the lack of (what I personally see as) proper support for Move. I got to liking Sports Champions a lot, and it makes great use of Move and showcases it as a very capable device. So far my experiences outside of SC have been a bit lackluster though, or they were fun because the games are good, and not so much because it is the superior or more fun input method to a DS. I have yet to start playing Infamous 2 though, nor R.U.S.E. or RE5, so there is still hope in my library. I'm really looking forward to Sorcery though. While it might not be "the best" (optimal?) use of that type of control, it does look fun, and it's a nice step towards creating more hardcore(ish) games that are built around Move. I totally approve of their decision to delay it and give it a shot in the arm, it looks like a much more fleshed out experience. I also read recently that the team that developed SC is making another Move game, though I'm not sure they announced what it is yet. That might be something to look out for. TheMightyEthan
Anybody played No More Heroes Paradise? I remember hearing good things about the Wii version. Kinda surprised more Wii games haven't been ported over, honestly.

Strangelove
NMH Paradise isnt so great. The game is awesome, but the motion stuff is pretty bland. Its 20 bucks on Newegg though. I think its worth that. Just dont expect to be blown away by the gameplay. I personally dont think its anything special. Everything else though? Pretty awesome. And yes, there should have been more Wii ports. Dead Space Extraction was pretty awesome, but maybe some of the Japanese stuff like Sin & Punishment would have been nice. deanb
It's not just a power thing. PC's have the same power as a PS3, they don't get ported cos it's not the same architecture. Move has a double issue of not being as huge as userbase as you get when porting 360 titles to PS3 (And vice versa)

deanb
You just listed a bunch of multi-plat Xbox 360 games :/ You know, the Microsoft DirectXbox on the Microsoft Windows running DirectX 9 and up. Porting from 360 to PC is pretty easy and rather common. PS3 to PC not so much. I'm talking all these sorts of games. Pretty much the only games ported to both PC and PS3 are Massively Multiplayer Online games.
TheMightyEthan
Sorry, I was just listing games on the PS3 that I thought of off the top of my head that weren't first party.

TheMightyEthan
Spellcasting could be cool but some of that gameplay looked like a TPS, which is disappointing if true.
deanb
Yeah it was one of the first games shown for he Move and looked freekin awesome. It was pone of the games I got mine for. I'm a bit less enthused now. Still looks like it's at least a good rent, but something seems to have been lost along the way.

RockyRan
I'm becoming increasingly interested in getting a Move, mostly to use them on games like inFamous 2. I want to keep playing that game but I think I'd enjoy it even more (if that were possible ) if I could aim much more intuitively. Same goes for Killzone 3 (which has a free multiplayer "trial" I believe). As you can guess, I've never liked aiming with a joystick. Also, I'd love to get LBP2 and futz around with the editor using a Move. I think it'd be about 900 times (scientific estimate) faster/more intuitive using one. Using the controller in LBP1 in the editor was an exercise in sanity retention that I wouldn't want to duplicate. It really was the reason I held off on getting LBP2.
